Leather Office Chair Maintenance
Admin October 11, 2026
Maintaining a leather office chair involves three key aspects: cleaning, moisturizing, and daily usage precautions. Scientific operation can extend its lifespan and preserve its texture.

I. Cleaning
- Daily Cleaning Process: When using a specialized leather cleaner, first squeeze the cleaner onto the surface of a brush. Evenly brush the chair surface, then wipe off excess cleaner with a towel. For hard-to-reach areas like seams, use a cotton swab for assistance. Finally, use a spray bottle with purified water to wipe away any residue, avoiding damage from chemical substances remaining on the leather.
- Stain Treatment Principles: If the chair surface is stained, always use a professional leather cleaner. Never use irritants such as alcohol or strong cleaning agents. These substances can damage the natural oil layer of the leather, leading to cracking, fading, or even irreversible damage.
II. Moisturizing and Maintenance
- Deep Moisturizing Treatment: Regularly use a genuine leather moisturizer to care for the chair surface, replenishing oils lost due to use or environmental factors and maintaining its flexibility. Apply evenly to avoid local buildup.
- Maintenance Agent Application Techniques: After applying a genuine leather BB cream maintenance agent, use the palm of your hand to massage deeply in circular motions to promote absorption. After treatment, cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes to enhance penetration. Finally, wipe off excess maintenance agent with a clean towel to prevent a sticky surface.
III. Daily Usage Precautions
- Environmental Control: Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or direct sunlight. UV rays can accelerate leather aging, leading to deformation and fading. Also, keep away from heat sources (such as radiators and stoves), as high temperatures can cause the leather to shrink and harden.
- Usage Habits: Clean gently by patting and brushing, avoiding forceful pulling or scratching with sharp objects. Do not jump, step, or wrap heavy objects on the chair, as such actions can damage the internal structure, leading to sagging or breakage.
- Protective Measures: Apply protective film to areas where the chair surface comes into contact with hard objects (such as metal armrests and tabletops) to reduce friction damage. If scratches occur, immediately fill them with a professional leather repair agent to prevent stains from penetrating and expanding the damage.
- Liquid Management: If liquid is spilled, immediately absorb it with a dry cloth. Do not wipe, to avoid spreading the liquid. For stubborn stains, contact professional cleaning personnel for treatment, as self-treatment may worsen the damage.
