Leather Office Chair Cleaning

Admin October 10, 2026

For cleaning leather office chairs, you can refer to the following methods and choose the appropriate one based on the degree of stains and material characteristics:

1. Daily Quick Cleaning: Interior Cleaner + Glove Wiping This method is suitable for quickly dealing with surface dust or mild stains. Evenly spray the interior cleaner on the seat surface, avoiding excessive amounts that could cause the liquid to seep into the leather. Use a dedicated glove (or soft non-woven fabric) to gently wipe along the direction of the leather grain, focusing on areas such as armrests and the edges of the seat cushion that are prone to dust accumulation. After cleaning, use a dry cloth to absorb any remaining liquid and maintain a well-ventilated environment to speed up drying. Note: Choose a neutral-formula cleaner to avoid damage to the leather protective layer from alcohol or strong solvent ingredients.

2. Moderate Stain Removal: Nano Sponge + Laundry Paste Foam Method This is for local stubborn stains such as coffee stains and ink. Wet the nano sponge and wring it out until it is semi-dry. Apply an appropriate amount of neutral laundry paste (such as baby laundry paste) to the surface of the sponge and rub to create rich foam. Gently press the foam onto the stained area in a circular motion, using the surfactants in the foam to break down the grease. Observe the fading of the stain every 10 seconds of wiping to avoid excessive friction that could cause the leather to fade. Afterward, use a clean sponge soaked in water to wipe 2-3 times to completely remove any foam residue.

3. Deep Maintenance Cleaning: Three-Step Leather-Specific Cleaner Method Perform a systematic cleaning of the entire chair once a month. Choose a leather cleaner containing coconut oil ingredients (such as the Misscell coconut oil version), as its natural oils can clean and nourish simultaneously. Spray the cleaner on the dirty areas and let it sit for 3 minutes to allow the active ingredients to penetrate and break down the dirt. Use a sponge to gently wipe in one direction along the leather grain, and immediately absorb any dirty water with a soft cloth to prevent secondary contamination. Finally, polish the surface with a dry cloth and place it in a cool, well-ventilated place to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight that could cause the leather to become brittle.

4. Tough Stain Tackling: Composite Formula Foam Cleaning Method When dealing with old stains or mixed dirt, you can make your own cleaning foam: Add 5 cm of toothpaste, 10 ml of low-foaming facial cleanser, and 2 pumps of neutral dish detergent to a container, and then pour in 40ยฐC warm water and stir until you get a dense foam. Dip a bath pouf into the foam and cover the stained area, continuously rubbing in a circular motion for 5-8 minutes, using the synergistic effect of multiple surfactants to break down complex dirt. Replenish with fresh foam every 2 minutes to maintain cleaning power. Afterward, wipe 3 times with a slightly damp soft cloth to ensure no cleaner residue remains.

Common Operating Principles:

  • Before cleaning, perform a local test on a concealed area of the chair back to confirm that there is no fading or hardening before proceeding with a full cleaning.
  • Keep the wiping motion in the same direction to avoid cross-friction that could disrupt the leather grain.
  • After cleaning, it is recommended to apply a leather conditioner to form a protective film and extend the service life.
  • Avoid using rough tools such as hard brushes or steel wool to prevent scratching the leather surface.
