Leather Office Chair Assembly

Admin October 13, 2026

The assembly of a leather office chair can be carried out according to the following steps, which are applicable to most common models featuring a gas lift and a five-star base design:

I. Pre-assembly Preparation

  1. Environment and Unboxing: Choose a well-lit, spacious, and flat area for unboxing to avoid operational errors due to cramped space or insufficient lighting during assembly.
  2. Inventory Check: Verify the parts list, which typically includes a five-star base, casters (5 pieces), gas lift, control tray (base), seat (cushion), backrest, armrests, screw pack, and installation tools (such as screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, rubber mallets, etc.). If any parts or tools are missing, they should be replenished promptly.
  3. Tool Preparation: Select a Phillips/flat-head screwdriver or a low-torque electric screwdriver based on the screw type; a rubber mallet may be needed for installing the gas lift; a tape measure can be used for symmetry checks during the debugging phase. If professional tools are unavailable, pliers can temporarily replace a wrench, but caution should be exercised to avoid damaging the parts.

II. Core Assembly Steps

  1. Install the Five-Star Base and Casters:

    • Place the five-star base with its front facing up, take a caster, align the metal rod with the base hole, and press vertically until a 'click' sound indicates it is securely fastened; if it is a threaded type, tighten it clockwise.
    • After installation, lift the five-star base slightly and shake it gently to check if all casters are firmly attached to prevent loosening during subsequent use.
  2. Install the Gas Lift:

    • Ensure the center hole of the five-star base is facing up, insert the thicker end (with a hole) of the gas lift vertically into the center hole, and press firmly until it is fully inserted at the bottom.
    • If there is a plastic protective cap on the top of the gas lift, remove it in advance; otherwise, it may affect installation stability.
  3. Install the Seat Base (Tray):

    • Flip the seat cushion over so that its bottom is facing up, locate the pre-installed screw holes (usually 4), and remove the pre-installed screws.
    • Align the holes on the tray, paying attention to distinguish the front and back directions (the side with the lift control lever is the front), initially screw in all screws by hand, and then use the 'diagonal tightening method': first tighten two screws on the diagonal, then tighten the other two, repeating this process 2-3 times to ensure the tray is evenly stressed and not skewed.
  4. Connect the Seat to the Gas Lift:

    • Lift the seat with the installed tray, align the center hole of the tray with the top of the gas lift, and smoothly slide it down vertically to ensure a tight connection without wobbling.

III. Special Model Considerations Different models may have variations, for example:

  • Livorno S350 Leather Chair: The assembly steps include installing the five-star base, gas lift, seat, etc., and details should be adjusted according to the instruction manual.
  • 908/909 Office Chairs: Four M6*25mm screws are required to install the backrest bracket, and attention should be paid to matching the screw specifications.

After assembly, check that all connection points are secure and test the lift function to ensure safe use.
