Admin October 08, 2026

Volkswagen once launched an electric office chair with a maximum speed of 19 to 20 kilometers per hour. The following is an introduction from four aspects: design, performance, configuration, and mass production plan.

Design: The exterior design of this electric office chair is inspired by the captain's chair in 'Star Trek', giving it a futuristic look. It is equipped with five wheels at the bottom. Two large wheels each carry a 350-watt motor, with a total output power of 700 watts, providing power support for the office chair. Two small wheels are equipped with foot pedals for controlling forward, backward, or steering movements, offering a convenient operation method.

Performance: In terms of power performance, with a total output power of 700 watts, this office chair can achieve a maximum speed of 19 to 20 kilometers per hour, meeting the needs of short-distance rapid movement. Regarding battery life, when fully charged, it can travel up to 12 kilometers, satisfying usage requirements for a certain period of time.

Configuration: This electric office chair boasts a rich configuration. In terms of safety features, it is equipped with a 360-degree collision avoidance sensor to monitor the surrounding environment in real-time and prevent collisions. It also has a seatbelt to ensure the safety of the user. For driving assistance, it comes with a rear-view camera with full navigation to facilitate the user in observing the rear situation and performing operations such as reversing. In terms of comfort features, the seat is a heated embroidered seat, providing a comfortable sitting experience. It also has party lights to enhance the usage atmosphere. Additionally, it is equipped with a touchscreen display, USB charger, LED headlights, remote control, and speakers, meeting the user's needs in entertainment, charging, lighting, and other aspects.

Mass Production Plan: Currently, this electric office chair is only a prototype product, mainly used for internal 'test drives' at Volkswagen and some company marketing activities. Volkswagen will evaluate factors such as market demand and technical feasibility based on user feedback to decide whether to proceed with mass production.
