Jet Engine Office Chair

Admin October 14, 2026

Currently, there is no truly mature, mass-produced, and widely applied jet engine office chair, but there are related concepts and attempts at similar products.

Attempts at Similar Products

The JetRacer jet-powered flying chair created by Zapata, although not a traditional office chair, has some connection to the concept of a jet engine office chair. It is powered by ten small turbine jet engines from Flyboard and is mounted on a carbon fiber barrel-shaped racing chair. This design endows it with powerful flight capabilities. It is estimated that it can climb to a maximum altitude of 3,000 meters, reach a top speed of over 250 km/h, and perform difficult maneuvers such as in-place 360-degree rolls in the air. From the perspective of functional expansion, its development is expected to have applications in civilian and military work. It can be operated by personnel or remotely controlled, and it is estimated that it can carry a maximum load of 200 kilograms of personnel or cargo in flight. However, it mainly focuses on flight functions and has significant limitations in terms of applicability in office scenarios. For example, it lacks the comfort design and office assistance functions of traditional office chairs, making it difficult to meet daily office needs.

Concept Proposal

It is mentioned in Records of the World that Donziante Dominique manufactured a jet engine and mounted it on a trailer. Later, based on this, someone proposed the idea of making a jet office chair. However, this only remains at the stage of concept proposal. There is no clear indication of whether a jet engine office chair was successfully made in the end, nor is there further information about the specific design, performance, and functions of the product. This indicates that the jet engine office chair is currently more of an idea, and there is still a long way to go before it becomes a practical product.

Overall, the jet engine office chair is currently more of a creative concept. Although there have been attempts at similar products and concept proposals, there is no mature product available on the market yet. A great deal of research and exploration are still needed in terms of technological realization, functional design, safety assurance, and meeting actual office needs.
