JD Office Chair Disassembly
The disassembly of a JD office chair can be carried out step by step from the whole to the parts. The specific steps are as follows:

Separate the seat and the backrest: First, observe the connection position between the lower part of the backrest and the seat. There are usually connecting screws here. Use an appropriate screwdriver to unscrew the fixed screws one by one, and then you can easily separate the seat and the backrest. However, some office chairs adopt an integrated backrest design. Such chairs do not have this connection structure, and this step is not required.
Remove the armrests: The armrests are generally fixed to both sides of the seat with screws. Carefully look for the corresponding positions on both sides of the seat. After finding the screws that fix the armrests, use a screwdriver to unscrew them, and the armrests can be smoothly removed. During the disassembly process, pay attention to keeping the screws well to avoid losing them.
Separate the gas lift and the base: There are several methods to achieve this. First, completely invert the chair and find the connection part between the gas lift and the base. In most cases, they are fixed with snap rings or screws. If fixed with snap rings, use snap ring pliers to loosen the snap rings; if fixed with screws, use a screwdriver to unscrew the fixed screws, and then you can pull the gas lift out from the base. Second, for some chairs, the gas lift and the base are fixed with snap rings or nuts. For the snap ring structure, use snap ring pliers to take out the snap rings; if fixed with nuts, use a wrench of the appropriate size to unscrew the nuts, and then you can draw the gas lift out from the base. Third, first apply lubricant at the connection between the chair base and the gas spring, and the connection between the five-star base and the gas spring. Wait for at least half an hour for the lubricant to fully penetrate. When disassembling the chair base, use a rubber mallet to evenly tap the four corners of the base, and then tap the bottom periphery of the gas spring to make them separate. When tapping, it is best to place a cloth in between to prevent the five-star base from getting paint peeling or cracking.
Remove the casters: The casters are usually directly snapped onto the roller seats of the base. When disassembling, you can directly pull them out with a relatively large force. If it is difficult to pull them out directly, you can also use a screwdriver to gently pry the edges of the casters to remove them.
If you encounter the situation where the screws are rusted and difficult to disassemble during the disassembly process, you can appropriately spray some rust remover to assist the operation. At the same time, pay attention to the force during the disassembly process to avoid damaging the parts due to excessive force.
