Invention of Office Chair Video

Admin October 19, 2026

Currently, there is no video directly demonstrating the invention process of office chairs, but we can introduce the invention principles and production process of office chairs.

Invention Principles of Office Chairs

One of the core components of an office chair is the pneumatic cylinder, which endows the office chair with flexible adjustability. Up-and-Down Movement Mechanism: Inside the pneumatic cylinder, there is a pneumatic device. By controlling the change in air pressure, the height of the seat can be freely adjusted. When the seat needs to be raised, the air pressure pushes the piston upward; when the seat needs to be lowered, the air pressure is released, and the piston descends under the action of gravity. Forward-and-Backward Movement Mechanism: Some pneumatic cylinders of office chairs also have the function of sliding forward and backward. This is usually achieved by setting slide rails and sliders at the bottom of the cylinder. The slide rails are fixed under the seat, and the sliders are connected to the seat. By moving the sliders forward and backward on the slide rails, the forward and backward adjustment of the seat is realized. Rotation Mechanism: A rotating bearing is usually installed at the top of the pneumatic cylinder, allowing the seat to rotate 360 degrees around the central axis. This rotation function enables users to flexibly adjust their direction during office work and interact with people or objects around them.

Production Process of Office Chairs

Bottom Cushion Frame Fabrication: First, select appropriate wood or metal materials according to the design requirements, cut them into corresponding shapes and sizes, and then assemble the various components into the frame structure of the bottom cushion through welding or mortise-and-tenon joints. Back Frame Fabrication: Similar to the bottom cushion frame, the back frame also requires material cutting and assembly according to the design. However, the back frame usually needs to consider ergonomic factors to ensure good support during use. Leather Cutting: If the surface of the office chair is made of leather, professional leather cutting tools are used to cut the leather into appropriate sizes and shapes according to the shapes of the seat and the back. Foam Cushion Cutting: The foam cushion is a key component that provides a comfortable sitting feeling. According to the contours of the seat and the back, the foam cushion is cut into corresponding shapes and pasted onto the frame. Finally, assemble and debug all the components to ensure that all functions of the office chair are normal.
