Installing Office Chair Wheels
Installing wheels on an office chair is usually the first step in assembling the chair, and generally involves attaching the wheels to the five-star base. The installation details may vary depending on the type of wheels. Here is a detailed introduction:

Common Installation Steps
For a typical office chair, installing the wheels is usually the starting point of the entire assembly process. Office chairs are usually equipped with a five-star base, and the first step is to attach the wheels to it. Generally, an office chair comes with five wheels, and during installation, each wheel needs to be accurately inserted into the corresponding hole on the five-star base. During insertion, ensure that the wheels fit snugly against the five-star base to avoid looseness. Otherwise, the wheels may fall off during use, affecting the normal operation of the office chair and even posing safety hazards.
Characteristics and Installation Points of Different Types of Wheels
- Snap-ring Threaded Casters: For example, a custom 1.4-inch load-bearing snap-ring threaded caster from the manufacturer. This type of wheel is connected to the five-star base through a snap-ring and threaded structure. During installation, first align the threaded part of the wheel with the hole on the five-star base, then slowly rotate the wheel to gradually screw its thread into the five-star base. When you hear a 'click' sound, it means the snap-ring has snapped into place, and the wheel is now securely installed.
- Insert-rod Flat Casters: Like the custom 2-inch insert-rod flat caster from WOW. It is installed using an insert-rod method. Align the insert-rod with the installation hole on the five-star base and forcefully insert the rod into the hole, ensuring that the rod is fully inserted and does not wobble. Some insert-rod flat casters have positioning protrusions on the rods. When inserted into place, these protrusions will snap into the interior of the five-star base, serving as a fixing mechanism.
- Snap-ring Insert-type Foot Pads: For a 2-inch fixed-wheel foot pad for swivel chairs, office chairs, and computer chairs with a snap-ring insert mechanism. During installation, simply vertically insert the insert-rod part of the foot pad into the hole on the five-star base. When the snap-ring on the insert-rod pops out and catches the five-star base, it indicates that the installation is complete. This installation method is relatively simple, but pay attention to the insertion direction and force to avoid damaging the five-star base or the foot pad.
