Installation of Office Chairs

Admin October 08, 2026

The steps for installing an office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Install the Chair Base and Casters Insert the five casters one by one into the five holes on the chair base, ensuring that the casters are fully embedded and rotate smoothly. Pay attention to keeping the direction of the casters consistent to avoid tilting or jamming of the chair base after installation.

Step 2: Install the Gas Lift Insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base, ensuring sufficient insertion depth and a tight fit with the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so it must be kept vertical during installation to avoid malfunctions during subsequent use due to tilting.

Step 3: Connect the Armrests and Backrest Use four M6*25mm screws to align and fix the corresponding holes on the armrests and backrest. Pay attention to tightening the screws with moderate force to avoid cracking the components due to excessive tightness or loosening the structure due to insufficient tightness. For some models, you may need to gently tap the cover into the armrest hole with a small hammer before installing the screws.

Step 4: Connect the Armrests and Seat Cushion Use four M6*30mm screws to align and fix the holes on the lower part of the armrests and the edge of the seat cushion. Ensure that the connection between the armrests and the seat cushion is flat to avoid gaps or height differences after installation. For some models, you may need to install four long screws to fix the base to the bottom of the seat plate after installing the chassis, and then connect the corner brackets of the backrest and seat.

Step 5: Fix the Armrest Brackets and Decorative Covers Use two M8*25mm screws to fix the connection between the armrest brackets and the armrests, and install decorative covers to conceal the screw holes. Pay attention to ensuring that the decorative covers are oriented correctly to maintain a neat overall appearance. For some models, you may need to fix the armrests to the frame with No. 3 screws before installing the decorative covers.

Step 6: Install the Headrest Use two M6*25mm screws to align and fix the holes on the headrest and the top of the backrest. Adjust the height of the headrest according to your personal height to ensure that it fits the curve of your neck and provides comfortable support after installation.

Precautions:

  1. Before installation, check the specifications and quantity of screws to avoid damaging components due to misuse.
  2. Tighten all screws to an appropriate force, and it is recommended to use an electric screwdriver to assist with installation.
  3. After installation, check that all components are secure and test the seat height adjustment function by rotating the gas lift to ensure it is working properly.
