Hydraulic Office Chair

Admin October 11, 2026

A hydraulic office chair, also known as a hydraulic lift chair, is a type of chair that adjusts its height through a hydraulic system. It is commonly found in office settings and features unique working principles, adjustment methods, safety characteristics, and usage precautions.

Working Principle: The working principle of a hydraulic lift chair is similar to that of a car jack, relying on incompressible hydraulic oil to achieve lifting and lowering functions. Since the oil cannot suddenly expand, there is no risk of explosion, which is a significant safety advantage over pneumatic chairs.

Adjustment Method: It uses an oil pressure pump as its core adjustment component, allowing users to gradually adjust the chair's height by pressing a control lever. This adjustment method is simple and direct, with a high degree of precision. However, unlike pneumatic chairs that rely on nitrogen compression for rapid lifting and lowering, the lifting process of a hydraulic lift chair is relatively slow, requiring multiple operations of the control lever to complete the adjustment.

Safety: The safety of a hydraulic lift chair primarily depends on the quality of its materials, structure, and hydraulic system. Products from reputable brands typically feature leak-proof designs and obtain relevant certifications, such as BIFMA certification. Generally, hydraulic lift chairs priced above 500 yuan offer relatively better quality assurance.

Precautions: Firstly, be aware of the aging of the seal ring. When the seal ring ages, it may cause oil leakage, leading to uneven lifting and lowering, necessitating the replacement of parts. Secondly, avoid purchasing unbranded products, as these often lack quality and safety guarantees.

Market Situation: Hydraulic lift chairs also have some drawbacks, such as high costs, relatively complex structures, and less sensitive height adjustments, which contribute to their lower market share in China.
