Huawei Old Office Chair

The old office chairs at Huawei have mainly gone through four generations of development, with different characteristics at each stage; if it involves unlocking the old office chair in the game 'My Billionaire Journey', there are specific steps.

Development History of Huawei's Old Office Chairs

• First-Generation Wooden Chairs: In the early days of Huawei's development, from the Nanyou period to the Shenyi period and then to the Science and Technology Park period, wooden chairs were used. These chairs were heavy and cumbersome. In the office environment at that time, although they might not have been very comfortable, they met the basic office needs and reflected the tough conditions during Huawei's early entrepreneurial phase.
• Second-Generation Cloth-Covered Chairs: After entering the Science and Technology Park era, cloth-covered chairs emerged and coexisted with wooden chairs. At this time, Ren Zhengfei sat on a rotatable leather sofa chair and expressed the idea of letting employees, especially R & D personnel, all sit on sofa chairs. This showed that Huawei began to pay attention to the office comfort of its employees and reflected its care for them.
• Third-Generation Sofa Chairs: After the company moved to the Bantian Base, employees all sat on leather sofa chairs with casters, the same as Ren Zhengfei's chair. This change further improved the employees' office experience. The design with casters also increased the flexibility of office work, reflecting Huawei's emphasis on improving the employees' work environment as it developed.
• Fourth-Generation Ergonomic Chairs: In mid-2015, the company replaced the original leather sofa chairs with ergonomic chairs, and the original sofa chairs were claimed by employees and donated to primary and secondary schools. Ergonomic chairs are more in line with ergonomic principles, can better protect the physical health of employees, reduce fatigue and injuries caused by long-term office work, and reflect Huawei's concern for employee health and its sense of social responsibility.
