Huangtian Office Chair Repair

Admin October 19, 2026

Office chair repair requires taking targeted measures based on the specific damage. Here are general repair methods for common issues:

Loose Seat Frame If there is wobbling at the frame connections, first check if the screws are loose. Use a screwdriver to tighten them one by one, being careful not to over-tighten and strip the threads. For severely loose parts, add metal washers at the connections or use glue to reinforce the components. For example, paste a metal sheet at the frame intersections and then re-fix the screws to enhance structural stability.

Chair Surface Damage

  • Minor Wear: For leather chair surfaces, apply a special repair agent to the worn areas and follow the instructions to apply multiple thin coats to restore the texture. For fabric surfaces, use a fabric repair paste to fill in the worn areas. After drying, brush the surface with a soft-bristled brush.
  • Major Damage: For leather damage, cut a piece of leather similar in color to the original and attach it with strong glue, then sew the edges with a needle and thread. For fabric damage, find the same or similar fabric and sew it up with a sewing machine or by hand, making sure to align the patterns for a neat appearance.

Wheel Damage

  • Wheel Replacement: Purchase new wheels that match the model of the original ones. Turn the chair upside down, use a wrench to unscrew the old wheels, install the new ones, and tighten the screws. Manually rotate the wheels to test if they turn smoothly.
  • Wheel Cleaning: If the wheels are stuck, disassemble them, clean out any hair, dust, or other debris inside, apply a small amount of lubricant (such as WD-40) to the axle, and then reassemble them.

Chair Back Adjustment Failure

  • Check the Adjustment Mechanism: Check if the chair back adjustment buttons or handles are loose from the internal mechanism. If so, re-fix them. If any parts are damaged (such as a broken plastic clip), replace the corresponding adjustment mechanism.
  • Lubricate the Adjustment Parts: Drip lubricant at the connection between the adjustment rod and the fixed part. Adjust the chair back angle repeatedly to allow the oil to penetrate and reduce friction.

Other Common Issues

  • Height Adjustment Failure: Check if the spring of the gas lift is broken (which requires professional tools to replace), or clean the dust from the adjustment handle and the control button at the lower part of the gas lift. If you can't solve it on your own, it is advisable to contact the brand's after-sales service or a professional repair person.
  • Cracks in Fixed Parts: Apply woodworking white glue to the cracked areas, press and hold them firmly, and let them sit for more than 24 hours. After drying, the glue will be colorless and transparent and provide a strong bond, suitable for repairing cracks in wooden frames.

When making repairs, pay attention to safety. Avoid using excessive amounts of glue or lubricant. For complex faults, it is recommended to contact a professional repair person first.
