Huangtan Guanmao Chair as an Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

The following types of Huangtan Guanmao chairs can be considered as office chairs:

Mexican Cocobolo High-Back Southern Guanmao Chair: This chair is crafted from aged Mexican cocobolo wood, measuring 58cm in length and 114.5cm in total height. Its design is generous and comfortable for sitting upright. The high backrest is carved from a single piece of wood at the top, resembling the official hat worn by ancient officials. The end is crafted with a mortise-and-tenon joint resembling a smoking pipe bowl, with smooth transitions in the curve, which is more pronounced than that of traditional Southern Guanmao chairs. The S-shaped backrest conforms to ergonomic principles, fitting well with the curve of the human back and reducing fatigue from prolonged office work. The craftsmanship is exquisite, featuring a sunken panel with raised edges, tightly joined frame components, and decorative brackets at the joint between the goose-neck armrest and the armrest, serving both decorative and supportive purposes. The lower part of the chair has a flared edge at the top and a recessed middle section, with a pressed edge line at the bottom, creating a rich sense of layering. The curved apron features a bowl-shaped line, making the overall design both aesthetically pleasing and practical, suitable for use as an office chair.

Auricularia Huangtan Four-Protruding Guanmao Chair: This is a one-to-one replica from the Shanghai Museum, featuring a simple and rigorous design. It has a wide variety of components, almost all of which are curved, and no expense is spared to achieve a delicate and graceful effect. The grain and color are highly similar to those of Hainan Huanghuali, giving it high ornamental value. The top rail has a distinctive shape, with a slope carved in the middle, gently sloping downwards on both sides, and then curving upwards again at the ends. The backrest is tall and S-shaped, resembling the curve of the human spine, providing good support for the back. The armrests curve outward from back to front, and the federal sticks are gracefully shaped, resembling hands supporting, with square pieces rounded off to conform to the natural placement of the hands, providing comfortable support for the arms during office work.

Dalbergia Cochinchinensis Aged Wood Four-Protruding Guanmao Chair: This chair has a tall and elegant shape, with the top rail and armrest ends shaped like eel heads. The curve of the top rail is natural and smooth, with the protruding part curving slightly backward and then upward after passing the back legs, creating a seamless transition between the top rail and the backrest. The backrest is thickened, with an S-shaped back panel fitting the human spine, providing a comfortable sitting experience. The backrest panel, armrests, and top rail all feature natural and smooth curves, while the goose-neck, federal sticks, and back legs have varying curvatures, crafted in a sunken panel with raised edges style. The lower part of the chair has a through-style leg stretcher with slight protrusions, and the craftsmanship details are well-handled. It is made from selected aged Dalbergia Cochinchinensis wood, with a fine texture, good oil content, and้‡‘ๆ˜Ÿ (golden stars, referring to the golden flecks in the wood similar to those in Indian Rosewood), making it not only durable but also of high quality, suitable for use in an office environment.
