How to Use an Office Chair

Admin October 11, 2026

Using an office chair requires scientific adjustments based on its functions, combined with regular breaks to maintain health. Here are the specific methods:

1. Basic Adjustment Functions

  • Seat Height: Adjust using the hand control (lever or knob) to ensure your feet are flat on the ground, with your thighs and lower legs forming a 95ยฐ-100ยฐ angle. If the chair is too high, use a footrest; if too low, it increases pressure on the knees. When working on a computer, keep your eyes level with the monitor; when working at a desk, keep your elbows level with the desk surface.
  • Seat Angle: Recline slightly to 100ยฐ-110ยฐ, allowing your back to rest against the chair back. If the chair has a lumbar support, adjust it to support the natural curve of your lower back and avoid a hollow waist.
  • Armrest Height: Adjust so that when your elbows hang naturally, your forearms can rest comfortably on the armrests or desk, with your upper and lower arms forming a near 100ยฐ angle. If no support is needed, remove or lower the armrests to prevent interference with knee movement.
  • Monitor Height: Elevate the monitor so that your eyes are level with the top edge of the screen, avoiding neck strain from forward bending.

2. Adjustments for Special Models

  • Sihoo S300: The headrest and backrest are integrated and adjustable forward and backward to fit different heights; the lumbar pillow has a unique design and requires fine-tuning based on the curve of your lower back.
  • Hbada Ergonomic Chair Structure Master E3pro:
    • Seat Lift: After leaving the seat, lift the wired controller to move the seat up or down.
    • Recline Lock: Pull the controller backward and lean back to the desired angle, then release to lock; leaning forward returns the backrest to its original position.
    • Footrest: Pull it out and flip it upward to place your feet on it.
    • Seat Depth Adjustment: Pull the controller forward to move the seat cushion, then release to lock the distance.
    • Lumbar Support: Adjust in cycles for height; the control lever locks the front-back position in the upper gear, unlocks adaptive lumbar support in the lower gear, and fixes it again by pulling upward.
    • Backrest and Neck Pillow: Pull with both hands for cyclic height adjustment; the neck pillow supports up-down, front-back movement, and overall rotation.
    • Armrests: Press the button to raise or lower the height.

3. Suggestions for Regular Breaks Take a simple stretch every 30 minutes:

  • Hip Stretch: Sit on the edge of the chair, spread your feet, cross your ankles over the opposite knee, and press your back forward.
  • Lower Back Release: Turn sideways and gently twist while holding the chair back.
  • Shoulder Opener: Sit upright, raise your arms overhead and lean to the opposite side, or hold the chair back with both hands behind you. Alternatively, change your sitting position every 15-30 minutes, such as briefly leaning forward and then returning to an upright position, or adjusting the distribution of your body weight to reduce fatigue from a single posture.
