How to Secure Office Chairs
Admin October 22, 2026
If you want to secure office chairs to prevent sliding or movement, here are several methods:
- Anti-slip Pad Adhesion Method: Choose silicone or rubber pads with anti-slip textures on the bottom and cut them to the same size as the chair legs' bottom. Before adhering, wipe the bottom of the chair legs and the floor clean to ensure a firm adhesion. This method not only prevents the chair from sliding but also reduces the floor friction sound produced during movement, and replacing the pads is simple.
- Strap Tightening Method: Suitable for temporary securing scenarios, such as tidying up tables and chairs after a family gathering or arranging seats for an outdoor stall. Use durable Velcro straps to cross-wrap the legs of adjacent chairs. After tightening, the chairs can be fixed in a row to prevent loosening. Simply untie them after use, with a high reuse rate.
- Base Clip Fixation Method: Suitable for gaming chairs, office chairs, and other chairs with built-in matching accessories. Simply clip the matching plastic base onto the bottom of the chair, then press the base onto the floor, relying on the tension of the clip to secure it. This method does not require drilling holes, will not damage the floor, and maintains a clean appearance after disassembly.
- Rope Wrapping for Steel-framed Chairs: For chairs with steel frames, after placing the steel frame on the chair, use cloth strips or ropes to fix the steel frame to the chair. Pay attention to tightness and uniformity when wrapping to avoid local loosening.

If you want to pack and secure office chairs to prevent damage during transportation, you can use the following methods:
- Disassembly + Wrapping Film Packaging and Fixation: Prioritize disassembling foldable parts, such as removing the backrest of dining chairs, removing the casters of swivel chairs, and folding the joints of folding chairs and wrapping them with tape to prevent them from springing open. Place small parts in sealed bags and attach them to the corresponding parts. Wrap the corners with foam anti-collision strips and wrap the edges with bubble wrap for protection. In summer, place corrugated paper between the plastic chair legs and the seat surface to prevent adhesion. Start spirally wrapping the wrapping film from the bottom of the chair legs, focusing on wrapping the pneumatic rod part. Wrap folding chairs 3 times to prevent them from scattering. Finally, place the chair upside down in a five-layer corrugated cardboard box, fill the gaps, and mark "โ This side up".
- Local Key Protection + Overall Wrapping Reinforcement: For protruding parts such as chair legs, armrests, and backrest corners, wrap them with bubble wrap 2-3 times and stuff pearl cotton into the corners to prevent็ฃ็ขฐ (bumps). Chairs with casters need to be removed and bagged separately. Wrap the whole tightly with wrapping film or thick bubble wrap, and avoid using sticky tape directly on fabric chairs. After packing, place it in a large cardboard box, fill the gaps, and fix it crosswise with wide tape to avoid using thin ropes that may damage the packaging.
