How to Protect Office Chairs
Protecting office chairs can be carried out from three aspects: floor protection, maintenance of their own components, and prevention of items falling from above. The specific methods are as follows:

Floor protection: First, upgrade the wheels and replace them with PU soft-wrapped silent wheels. The soft rubber material can avoid scratching the floor. Second, install protective accessories, such as wheel protectors, which can prevent scratches on the floor and debris from getting tangled in the wheel axles. Lay special floor mats. High-quality transparent PVC floor mats have high density, are scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and non-slip. Lay soft rubber carpets or blankets, which are easy to clean and replace when dirty. Third, consider alternative solutions. For scenarios where no movement is required or where floor protection requirements are extremely high, fixed non-wheeled office chairs can be used. Fourth, regularly maintain the wheels. Flip the chair every month to clean up tangled objects, wipe off dirt on the wheel surfaces. If possible, use an air gun to blow away dust from the wheel axles. In environments with a lot of fluff, clean every two weeks.
Maintenance of their own components: First, surface cleaning. For mesh/fabric chair surfaces, use a vacuum cleaner or a soft-bristled brush to clean dust every week. Use a neutral cleaner to wipe off stains. For leather chair surfaces, wipe off dust with a dry soft cloth every day. Wipe off sweat and oil stains with a slightly damp cloth every week and apply special leather maintenance oil every quarter. For plastic/metal frames, wipe off stains with a damp cloth dipped in soapy water and then dry with a dry cloth. Use white vinegar to wipe off slight rust on metal. Second, lubricate the adjustment systems. If the lifting of the gas cylinder is stuck, drop 1 - 2 drops of lubricating oil at the connection. If the adjustment resistance of the tilting/reclining system is large, apply grease to components such as gears and springs. If the armrest adjustment is stiff, spray lubricant on the adjustment rod and the slot. Third, tighten the connecting components. Regularly check the connecting screws at the joints between the chair surface and the gas cylinder, the chassis and the gas cylinder, and the armrests and the chair surface. Tighten them promptly if they are loose. Replace the screws if they are stripped. Fourth, special maintenance for mesh chairs. Use a hair dryer to blow away dust. Pat the areas that are sat on for a long time frequently. Gently wipe off stains with dishwashing liquid. Keep them away from direct sunlight and pay attention to dust prevention on other parts.
Prevention of items falling from above: Install adjustable protective brackets. Choose metal or carbon fiber brackets that can be fixed to the backrest or the base. Use surrounding fixed objects to build protection, such as installing retractable crossbars and hanging breathable protective nets. Use portable protective net covers. Choose foldable, lightweight, and breathable materials. Promptly clean up items temporarily placed above your head. If there is a fixed risk of items falling, apply for an adjustment of the office area.
