How to Price Office Chairs

Admin October 16, 2026

The pricing of office chairs is influenced by various factors such as material, functionality, brand and design, and craftsmanship, resulting in a wide price range from tens of yuan to tens of thousands of yuan. Details are as follows:

Material is one of the key factors affecting the pricing of office chairs. There are significant price differences among office chairs made of different materials. For example, plastic chairs priced at around a hundred yuan are relatively affordable due to their low material costs, while office chairs made of top-grain leather can cost up to ten thousand yuan because of their high-end and scarce materials. In addition, office chairs made of low-quality materials such as recycled boards, thin-walled tubes, ordinary thin sponges, and recycled mesh fabrics are priced between 100 and 300 yuan and are mostly used for temporary transition scenarios. Office chairs made of medium-quality materials such as standard commercial particleboard desktops and thickened square tube steel frames are priced between 300 and 600 yuan and are suitable for bulk purchases by small and medium-sized enterprises. Office chairs made of high-quality materials such as E0-grade environmentally friendly particleboard desktops and thickened and reinforced one-piece formed steel frames are priced between 600 and 1200 yuan and are suitable for scenarios that require a good sitting experience and texture.

Functionality is also an important factor determining the price of office chairs. The more functions an office chair has, the higher its price will be. Office chairs with various adjustable functions, such as lumbar support and armrest adjustment, seat size and adjustment range, headrest height and angle, armrest adjustment direction, backrest recline angle, and locking mechanism, can meet the personalized needs of different users and are relatively more expensive. After adding various adjustable functions, the prices of some ergonomic chairs range from several hundred yuan to several thousand yuan.

Brand and design also affect the pricing of office chairs. Well-known brands or products with unique designs often command higher prices. For example, the SumLush Xia Mu Fit CC ergonomic chair, with its core technologies such as the ZeroG Flow dynamic lumbar support system, offers a "Herman Miller alternative" level of lumbar support experience. Although it is in the hundred-yuan price range, its price may differ from that of ordinary hundred-yuan chairs due to brand and design advantages.

Craftsmanship also has an impact on the pricing of office chairs. For example, in terms of desktop edge banding craftsmanship, office chairs with simple edge banding on low-density mixed material board desktops are inexpensive but have poor moisture resistance, while those with complete edge banding and moisture-resistant and wear-resistant standard commercial particleboard desktops are relatively more expensive. The same goes for the welding craftsmanship of steel frames. Office chairs with simple spot-welded thin-walled tube steel frames are inexpensive but have weak load-bearing capacity and poor stability, while those with fully welded thickened square tube steel frames are relatively more expensive and have overall stability.
