How to Play with Office Chairs
Admin October 09, 2026
Playing with office chairs can revolve around their adjustment functions and simple fitness exercises. Here are the specific operation methods:

Adjustment Function Play
- Recline Adjustment: Office chairs usually come with a recline adjustment function to meet different scenario needs. First, find the handle on the right side and gently pull it to unlock the backrest, which can then move freely. Next, adjust the cylindrical knob on the base. Turning it clockwise increases the backrest's rebound support force, suitable for scenarios requiring strong support, such as long periods of focused work. Turning it counterclockwise makes the backrest softer, providing a more relaxed leaning experience. Finally, use the lever on the right side of the seat cushion. Pull it out, and the chair can recline freely. Find a suitable angle and push the lever back to lock it. This angle can be used for reading, browsing your phone, or closing your eyes to rest. When you need to return to an upright position, pull the lever outward, give your back a push, and then push the lever back to lock it.
- Height Adjustment: The height adjustment function of office chairs is also very practical. Generally, there is a gas lift under the chair. By pressing the adjustment button under the seat and applying an upward or downward force simultaneously, you can easily adjust the chair's height to match the height of your desk, ensuring a comfortable sitting posture and preventing neck, shoulder, or waist fatigue caused by an inappropriate height.
Simple Fitness Exercise Play
- Hip Joint Stretch: Perform a hip joint stretch every 30 minutes to relieve discomfort caused by prolonged sitting. Sit on the edge of the chair with your feet shoulder-width apart. Cross one ankle over the opposite knee, then slowly lean your back forward and downward to feel the stretch in your buttocks and lower back. Hold this position for 15 - 30 seconds to effectively relax the relevant muscles.
- Lower Back Release: Turn to the side, hold onto the back of the chair with your hand, and gently twist your body towards the back of the chair to release the lower back. During the twisting process, move slowly and keep the amplitude moderate to avoid excessive force that could cause injury. Twist 3 - 5 times in each direction.
- Shoulder Opening Exercises: Sit up straight and raise one arm over your head, tilting it to the opposite side to feel the stretch in your shoulder. Alternatively, hold onto the back of the chair with both hands behind you, which can also open up your shoulders. Shoulder opening exercises help improve shoulder blood circulation and relieve shoulder stiffness. Hold each exercise for 15 - 30 seconds and repeat 2 - 3 sets.
