How to Place Office Chairs

Admin October 16, 2026

The placement of office chairs should be completed step by step according to the installation instructions. Here are the specific steps:

  1. Install the chair wheels Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw base, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and rotates smoothly. The chair wheels are the basic components for the mobility of the office chair. Check that they are installed securely to avoid looseness or detachment during subsequent use.

  2. Install the gas lift Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the central hole of the five-claw base and press it vertically downwards until it is fully embedded. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. During installation, ensure that it is perpendicular to the base to avoid uneven pressure or damage due to tilting.

  3. Install the base and seat cushion Place the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base (usually clearly marked). Align it with the four screw holes on the seat cushion, then screw in the screws one by one and tighten them. For some models, you need to install four long screws into the base first and then connect it to the seat cushion. Adjust the order according to the specific design.

  4. Connect the seat cushion and the gas lift Align the assembled seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically into the hole in the base, ensuring that it is inserted all the way and you hear a slight click (if applicable). Keep the gas lift stable during this step to avoid tilting or incomplete insertion of the seat cushion.

  5. Install the backrest Align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the armrest installation positions on both sides of the seat cushion. First, insert the bottom of the backrest and fix it with screws from the bottom of the armrest brackets. Then, align the back of the backrest with the installation holes on the seat cushion brackets and tighten the screws. Ensure that the backrest is perpendicular to the seat cushion during this step to avoid skewness that affects comfort.

  6. Install the armrests Press the button below the armrest surface (if any) and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively, ensuring that they are fully embedded and do not wobble. Some armrests need to be fixed with screws, and the installation method should be adjusted according to the design.

  7. Install the headrest (if applicable) Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest, press the installation part of the headrest to make it fit the backrest, and fix it with screws from the back of the backrest. The height of the headrest should be adjusted according to the user's needs, and check its stability after installation.

After completing the above steps, check that all screws are tightened and all components are firmly connected. Finally, adjust the gas lift to the appropriate height for normal use. Avoid using excessive force during the installation process to prevent damage to the components. If you encounter problems such as the buckles or screws not aligning, recheck the steps or refer to the instruction manual.
