How to Package Office Chairs

Admin October 10, 2026

When packaging office chairs, you can refer to the following steps and choose different methods based on whether to disassemble them:

I. Preliminary Preparation

Before packing, prepare materials such as bubble wrap, stretch wrap, packing paper or old newspapers, cardboard boxes of appropriate sizes (e.g., 60x40x50cm or 50x40x40cm), dust covers or disposable tablecloths, wide tape, accessory bags or sealed plastic bags, markers, and label paper. If the chair is valuable or fragile, you can additionally prepare cardboard, rigid corner protectors, or foam fillers.

II. Determine Whether to Disassemble

  • Packing without disassembly: Suitable for situations where the moving passage is spacious, the chair has a simple structure or is complex to disassemble, and quick completion is required. Simply wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap and stretch wrap.
  • Packing after disassembly: Suitable for situations where the moving space is limited, the chair is of high value or has a precise structure, and long-distance transportation or long-term storage is required. When disassembling, follow the order of "from the outside in, from the top down, and reverse assembly" to avoid damage caused by forced disassembly.

III. Core Operations

  • Packing without disassembly:
    • Wrapping and cushioning: Use bubble wrap to fully wrap components such as the chair body, backrest, and legs, focusing on protecting easily bumped parts like chair feet and armrests. Ensure at least 3-5 layers of wrapping.
    • Securing and dust prevention: Tightly wrap the outer layer of bubble wrap with stretch wrap to prevent the materials from loosening and to isolate dust and stains.
  • Packing after disassembly:
    • Component storage: Place small components such as screws and washers into accessory bags, seal them, and mark the names or numbers to avoid loss.
    • Component wrapping: Wrap each disassembled component separately with bubble wrap and then secure it with stretch wrap, ensuring that the edges and corners are tightly wrapped.
    • Box protection: Lay a dust cover or disposable tablecloth inside the cardboard box, fill it with old newspapers or foam after placing the components to reduce shaking space; after sealing the box, use a marker and label paper to mark the component names and assembly order.

IV. Other Precautions

  • Utilizing original packaging: If the original packaging is intact, it can be used directly; if lost, make an outer packaging with cardboard and protect the corners with rigid corner protectors.
  • Handling valuable chairs: For valuable chairs such as rosewood and solid wood, it is recommended to customize a frame-type wooden box and fill the interior with foam or clothing to reduce the gap with the box walls.
  • Operating standards: Study the instruction manual before disassembly to avoid forced assembly and disassembly; when wrapping, ensure that the materials are tightly attached to the chair without exposed or loose parts.
