How to Lower an Office Chair
There are mainly two methods to lower an office chair: finding the hand-operated control device and operating the control component beneath the chair. The specific operations are as follows:

For most office chairs with hand-operated control devices, if you are already seated, first look for the control lever or knob on the chair. Some chairs adjust their height by pulling up the corresponding control lever, but for certain models, you need to turn the knob instead of pulling the lever. If you are unsure which lever controls the height, you can read the chair's instruction manual or try pulling each lever one by one until you find the one that controls the height. When adjusting the seat height, operate gently, moving only a few inches (or centimeters) at a time to avoid damaging the chair or injuring yourself due to excessive force. After adjustment, return the lever to its original position. It should be noted that some models of seats have special operating methods. You may need to pull up the lever to raise the seat but press down the lever to lower it. There are also some pneumatic models of chairs that allow you to pump the lever, that is, repeatedly push it up and down to raise and lower the seat.
For office stools, they generally have a height adjustment function beneath them. After sitting on the stool, find the oscillating component beneath it, which could be a button or a control lever. Press this component, and the chair will descend until you are satisfied with the height. This operating method is relatively simple and straightforward, and does not require the complex searching and judgment required for office chairs with hand-operated control devices.
Regardless of the type of office chair, ensure operational safety when adjusting the height. Maintain your body balance during the adjustment process to avoid falling due to changes in the chair's height. At the same time, if the chair has not been used for a long time or has a malfunction, it is best to check whether all components of the chair are functioning properly before adjusting the height, such as whether the control lever is flexible and whether the pneumatic device has any air leaks, to prevent accidents during the adjustment process.
