How to Insert Components of an Office Chair

Admin October 10, 2026

The steps for 'inserting' components during the assembly of an office chair are as follows:

  1. Connecting the Chair Wheels to the Chair Base
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-pronged chair base one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded in the hole and securely locked. If the chair base has a roller design, press each roller into the corresponding installation slots on the base in sequence. Pay attention to keeping the direction of the rollers perpendicular to the plane of the base to avoid tilting or looseness after installation. This step is fundamental to the mobility function of the office chair, so ensure that all wheels are firmly installed.

  2. Assembling the Gas Lift with the Chair Base
Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the central hole of the five-pronged chair base, place it vertically downward, and press lightly to fully insert it into the hole. Some designs require inserting the gas rod into the central hole of the base first, then inserting the other end of the rod into the gas rod hole at the bottom of the seat, and straightening the seat to keep it perpendicular to the gas lift. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the height of the seat. During installation, check that the connection between the gas rod, the base, and the seat is tight to avoid wobbling during subsequent use.

  3. Connecting the Seat Cushion to the Gas Lift
Align the installation hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift, insert it vertically downward until the cushion is fully seated against the base plate hole of the gas lift. Pay attention to the direction of the cushion in this step. Usually, the front end of the cushion is designed with a curve or mark, which should be aligned with the direction of the backrest. After insertion, gently shake the cushion to confirm that it is firmly connected to the gas lift without looseness or misalignment.

  4. Connecting the Backrest to the Seat Cushion
Align the pins on both sides of the bottom of the backrest with the corresponding installation holes on the armrests of the seat cushion, insert them vertically downward, and press lightly to make the backrest fully fit the seat cushion. Some designs require simultaneously aligning the buckles at the bottom of the backrest with the slots on the edge of the seat cushion to ensure that the backrest does not wobble left or right after installation. This step is crucial for the support function of the office chair, so focus on checking the firmness of the connection between the backrest and the seat cushion.

  5. Fixing the Armrests to the Brackets
Align the left and right armrests with the holes on the armrest brackets respectively, insert them vertically, and press lightly to make the armrests fully fit the brackets. Some armrest designs require fixing with screws. In this case, use the้…ๅฅ— (matching) tools to tighten the screws to ensure that the armrests are not loose. After installation, check that the height of the armrests is consistent and that there are no gaps at the junctions with the seat cushion and backrest.

  6. Assembling the Headrest with the Backrest
Align the insertion rod at the bottom of the headrest with the flat hole at the top of the backrest, insert it vertically downward until the headrest is fully fixed. Some headrest designs require fixing by rotating or pressing the buckles, so follow the instructions in the manual. After installation, adjust the angle of the headrest to ensure that it fits the backrest and provides neck support.
