How to DIY Office Chairs
Office chairs can be DIY-made using materials such as soda cans, cardboard, and woodworking boards. Here are several DIY methods for office chairs using different materials:

Making an Office Chair from Soda Cans:
First, prepare a large number of soda cans. Remove the tops and bottoms, keeping only the middle cylindrical parts. Place the cans containing frozen soda into a glass jar and heat them with boiling water to melt the internal ice. This step is to make the cans more malleable. After removing the cans, cut and flatten them. Then, use a wave machine to roll and shape the flattened cans, creating a wavy texture that enhances the chair's aesthetic appeal and comfort. However, office chairs made this way may have limitations in terms of load-bearing capacity and stability, making them suitable for creative displays or small decorative seats.
DIY Cardboard Office Chair and Table:
Start by drawing two circles on cardboard and cutting them out; these will serve as the seat of the chair. Then, draw two fan-shaped pieces for the backrest and cut them out, adjusting the size according to personal comfort preferences. Fold tissue paper multiple times, cut it to fit the cardboard size, and glue it onto the cardboard to increase the softness of the seat and backrest. Next, wrap the cardboard with patterned fabric, cutting fabric pieces of appropriate size and gluing them onto the cardboard for decoration, making the chair look more attractive. Finally, assemble the seat cushion and backrest, then glue four matchsticks underneath the seat cushion as the chair's support legs. A simple cardboard office chair is now complete. However, cardboard chairs have weak load-bearing capacity and are not suitable for prolonged sitting or carrying heavy objects.
Simple Homemade Folding Chair:
Find a woodworking board of suitable size and cover its surface with masking paper. Draw the desired pattern on it with a pen, using tools properly to ensure neatness and accuracy. After drawing the pattern, cut it out with tools. If the pattern is unclear, pause or take a screenshot for reference. Divide the pattern into several parts along the curves, first remove the masking paper, and then sand the edges until they are smooth to avoid skin abrasions during use. After completion, assemble the parts together, use a hole puncher to make circular holes and install hinges. Flip the chair over and continue installing hinges to fix it, enabling the chair to fold. Open the chair, find the support points, and mark them. Use tools to make two angled holes at the marked points so that they can fit snugly inside, enhancing the chair's stability. This folding chair made of woodworking board has good load-bearing capacity and is suitable for daily use.
