How to Disinfect Office Chairs
Office chairs can be disinfected using methods such as wiping, spraying, and ultraviolet disinfection, following the principle of 'clean first, then disinfect'.

Wiping Disinfection
Prepare an appropriate disinfectant. You can choose a chlorine-based disinfectant, such as 84 disinfectant, and dilute it according to the instructions. 84 disinfectant with an effective chlorine content of 500mg/L can be used for wiping. Alternatively, you can use 75% alcohol. Wear gloves and use a clean cloth dipped in the diluted disinfectant to carefully wipe all parts of the chair, including the seat, backrest, armrests, and legs, ensuring that each part is covered with the disinfectant. Wipe for no less than 15-30 seconds and wait for it to dry naturally after wiping.
Spray Disinfection
In addition to chlorine-based disinfectants and alcohol, you can also use chlorine dioxide disinfectants. Load the disinfectant into a sprayer and configure it to the specified concentration. Spray the chair thoroughly to evenly attach the disinfectant to the surface. When spraying, maintain an appropriate distance to avoid excessive splashing of the disinfectant. After spraying, let the chair dry naturally or wipe it dry with a clean cloth.
Ultraviolet Disinfection
If the chair allows, you can use an ultraviolet lamp for disinfection. Choose a UV lamp with an appropriate power to ensure it can effectively cover the chair. In an unoccupied area, turn on the UV lamp and irradiate the chair for 30-60 minutes. However, be aware that ultraviolet light can harm human skin and eyes, so ensure that the area is unoccupied during use.
Follow the Principle of 'Clean First, Then Disinfect'
First, remove visible food residues and garbage from the office chair. Then, use a wet cloth with a cleaning agent to wipe the seat surface and edges to remove oil stains and dirt. After that, spray or wipe with a disinfectant containing 250mg/L of effective chlorine or 75% alcohol for 5-10 minutes. Then, use a clean wet cloth to remove any residual disinfectant. Finally, ensure that the office chair is completely dry before use.
For daily cleaning, wet wiping is the main method. The wiping order can be seat surface, backrest, legs, and edges (wipe the edges last). After wiping, turn the cloth over and wipe again, applying force from top to bottom. After wiping each leg, turn the cloth over. Be careful to avoid dropping the cloth during wiping. Staff should take proper personal protective measures before operating.
