How to Disassemble an Office Chair
Disassembling an office chair requires careful operation. It is not recommended to disassemble it unless necessary. Here are the specific steps:

An office chair generally consists of parts such as chair legs, casters, a base, a seat, a gas lift, a backrest, armrests, and a headrest. Compared to assembly, disassembly is more challenging, and safety precautions must be taken to avoid damaging components or causing injury to oneself.
Disassembling the Seat from the Gas Lift: When removing the base, first separate the backrest. Raise the gas lift to its highest position. Hold the seat firmly with one hand and press the height adjustment lever with the other hand while gently rocking it several times to loosen the connection between the seat and the gas lift, thereby removing the seat. During this process, be mindful of applying moderate force to avoid damaging the gas lift or causing it to pop out and injure someone.
Disassembling the Gas Lift from the Chair Legs: After separating the base from the gas lift, invert the chair legs. It is best to use a rubber mallet and strike evenly along the connection between the gas lift and the chair legs. Utilize the elasticity of the rubber mallet to gradually loosen the connection, thus knocking the gas lift out of the chair legs. If a rubber mallet is not available, find a piece of wood to pad it and use another suitable tool to strike, but be sure to control the force to prevent damage to the chair legs or the gas lift.
Other Disassembly Methods: You can also turn the computer lift chair upside down and try to remove the base directly. If it cannot be pulled out directly, use a rubber mallet to strike along the bottom steel ring forcefully in a circle, then try to pry it. If it still does not come loose, continue striking and prying until the base is removed. After removing the base, use a screwdriver to remove the upper seat, then use a hammer to strike the metal base forcefully while holding the hydraulic rod with one hand and stepping on it with your foot to further disassemble the relevant components in this way.
When disassembling an office chair, follow a certain order, starting with the easy parts and moving on to the more difficult ones. For parts fixed with screws, loosen the screws in the installation order. At the same time, keep the disassembled components properly to avoid loss or damage for subsequent reinstallation or maintenance purposes.
