Hongqiao Office Chair Adjustment
Admin October 09, 2026
The adjustment methods for Hongqiao office chairs typically include reclining adjustment, height adjustment, and other functional adjustments. The specific operations may vary slightly depending on the model design. Common methods are as follows:

1. Reclining Adjustment
Reclining adjustment is one of the core functions of an office chair and is mainly achieved through three systems:
- Lever Adjustment System: There is an adjustment lever located near the right or left side under the seat. For some models, you may need to release the reclining lock (if there is a locking mechanism) first, then push the lever to adjust the reclining angle to a comfortable position, and finally lock the angle. Ensure that the chair is on a stable surface during operation to avoid tipping over due to a shift in the center of gravity.
- Knob Adjustment System: A knob is usually equipped at the center of the lower part of the seat. Turning it clockwise increases the reclining resistance (suitable for heavier individuals), while turning it counterclockwise reduces the resistance (suitable for lighter individuals). Some models may have a separate knob to directly control the range of the reclining angle.
- Pneumatic Adjustment System: Adjustment is made by pushing the pneumatic lever shared with the height adjustment, providing a smoother reclining control experience, suitable for users who need to frequently adjust their sitting posture.
2. Height Adjustment
Height adjustment is achieved through the lever under the seat, and attention should be paid to the operating posture:
- Raising: The person needs to leave the chair or lift their body, pull the lever under the seat, and the chair will automatically rise under the action of the pneumatic rod. Release the lever to lock the height.
- Lowering: The person sits on the chair, pulls the lever, and the chair will descend due to the person's weight. Release the lever to complete the locking when it reaches the appropriate position.
Note: Maintain body balance during the adjustment process to avoid the chair bouncing back due to sudden release of the lever.
3. Other Functional Adjustments (Depending on the Model)
- Backrest Flattening: Some models have a pull rod under the right armrest. Pulling it allows you to gradually adjust the backrest angle to a nearly lying-down position, suitable for noon breaks.
- Forward and Backward Rocking: The black cylinder in front of the chair's pneumatic rod (usually the rocking control device) can be rotated left and right. Turning it clockwise reduces the rocking amplitude, while turning it counterclockwise increases the amplitude, meeting the dynamic sitting posture needs of different users.
Precautions:
- When adjusting the reclining angle, ensure that the chair's center of gravity is stable to avoid the risk of tipping over due to excessive reclining.
- If you are unsure about the specific operations, it is recommended to refer to the illustrated instructions in the product manual first or contact after-sales support for model-specific guidance.
- After long-term use, regularly check the tightness of the adjustment components (such as knobs and levers) to ensure normal functionality.
