Home Office Chair Installation

Admin October 22, 2026

The installation steps for a home office chair are as follows:

  1. Install the chair wheels
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-star base one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully seated in the hole. Some chair wheels are designed as swivel casters and need to be directly snapped into the slots on the edge of the five-star base. Slightly press down during installation to ensure stability.

  2. Install the gas lift
Flip the five-star base so that the chair wheels are facing down. Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-star base, insert it vertically, and press lightly until it is fully seated. If the gas lift comes with an anti-slip pad or a retaining ring, make sure its position is correct to prevent loosening during subsequent use.

  3. Install the base and seat cushion
Place the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base (usually marked with 'front' or 'backrest'). After aligning with the four screw holes on the seat cushion, use a screwdriver to screw in the four screws one by one for 3-4 turns, and then tighten them sequentially until they are fixed. Some designs require the use of long screws to pass through the seat cushion and connect to the base, ensuring that the screw length matches the hole depth.

  4. Install the backrest
Align the seat cushion assembly with the top of the gas lift and insert it, ensuring that the gas lift is fully embedded in the base hole. Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest mounting positions on both sides of the seat cushion. After insertion, first use two screws to secure the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest brackets, and then use two wrenches (or hex keys) to lock and fix the mounting holes on the back of the backrest and the seat cushion brackets, ensuring that the screws are tightened and evenly stressed.

  5. Install the armrests
Press and hold the adjustment button (if any) on the underside of the armrest surface, and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. Pay attention to the orientation of the armrests (usually marked with 'L' and 'R') during installation to avoid installing them backward. After insertion, gently push the armrests to confirm that the snaps are in place, and no additional screws are required for fixation (some designs may require screws for reinforcement).

  6. Install the headrest (if applicable)
Place the headrest vertically in the middle position at the top of the backrest and press the mounting area of the headrest to make it fit against the backrest. Use screws to pass through the headrest fixing snaps (or directly screw them into the reserved holes on the backrest) to firmly connect the headrest to the backrest. Some headrests need to be adjusted in height before fixation, and refer to the instruction manual for operation.

  7. Detail inspection and decoration
Check that all screws are tightened to avoid looseness that may cause abnormal noise or safety hazards. Snap on the black decorative buttons (to cover the screw holes) and the diamond-shaped decorative panel on the back of the backrest (if applicable) to enhance the overall aesthetics. Finally, test whether the functions of the chair such as height adjustment, rotation, and backrest adjustment are normal.

Precautions: Before installation, check the parts list to ensure that nothing is missing. Avoid scratching the chair surface when using tools. If the snaps are too tight, you can gently tap or use a rubber mallet to assist, and do not force them to avoid damage.
