Heyuan Office Chair Disassembly and Assembly

Admin October 11, 2026

The disassembly and assembly of office chairs in Heyuan can be carried out according to the following steps, and specific operations should be adjusted according to the actual structure of the chair:

I. Tool Preparation
Prepare in advance cross/flat-head screwdrivers, wrenches (including socket wrenches), rubber hammers, snap ring pliers, pry bars or plastic pry sheets, rags, and penetrating oil (for dealing with rusted parts). Among them, the rubber hammer is used to knock and separate the buckles to avoid direct knocking with a metal hammer, which may damage the paint surface; the snap ring pliers are specifically used to remove the snap ring fixing structure between the gas rod and the chassis; the penetrating oil can assist in disassembling rusted screws or connectors.

II. Disassembly Sequence

  1. Chair Wheel Disassembly
Hold the chair foot with one hand and pull out the chair wheel perpendicular to the slot direction with the other hand. If the chair wheel is stuck due to rust, spray the penetrating oil onto the connection and wait for 5-10 minutes before attempting to pull it out again.
  2. Separation of the Chair Seat and Backrest
Find the connecting screws (usually 2-4) at the junction between the lower part of the backrest and the seat surface. After unscrewing the screws counterclockwise with the corresponding screwdriver, lift the backrest upwards to separate it. If it is an integrated backrest (without independent screw fixing), skip this step.
  3. Armrest Disassembly
Disassemble the armrests through the fixing screws on both sides of the seat surface. After unscrewing the screws counterclockwise with a screwdriver, the armrests can be removed as a whole. Some armrests may be fixed with buckles and need to be pried apart along the gap with a plastic pry sheet.
  4. Separation of the Gas Rod and Chassis
    • Turn the chair upside down and knock evenly around the steel ring at the bottom of the base with a rubber hammer to loosen the buckle structure.
    • If the gas rod and the chassis are fixed with a snap ring, use the snap ring pliers to clamp both ends of the snap ring and pull it outwards; if it is fixed with a nut, use a wrench to unscrew the nut and then pull out the gas rod.
    • When encountering stubborn connections, step on the five-claw base with your feet and hold the seat cushion with both hands to shake it up and down, using the lever principle to separate the gas rod and the chassis.

III. Safety Tips

  • Record the Structure Before Operation: Take photos with your mobile phone to record the connection methods of various parts before disassembly to avoid omission or misalignment during assembly.
  • Control the Disassembly Force: For rusted screws, spray the penetrating oil and wait for it to penetrate. Avoid using excessive force during disassembly to prevent the screws from slipping or the parts from breaking.
  • Classify and Store Parts: Classify and store small parts such as screws and snap rings according to the disassembly sequence to prevent loss.

The fixing methods of different styles of office chairs may vary (such as the model of the gas rod and the design of the buckles). If you encounter parts that cannot be disassembled, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional maintenance technician for handling to avoid damage caused by forced operation.
