Heating Office Chair Power Supply
The power supply types for heating office chairs mainly fall into two categories, as detailed below:

1. 220V AC Power Conversion Type
Products such as heated seat cushions and heated office chairs commonly found in home or office settings typically use 220V AC power as input. These products incorporate transformers internally to convert high-voltage alternating current into low-voltage direct current (e.g., 12V, 20V, etc.), which then powers heating elements (such as carbon fiber heating wires or resistance wires) to achieve heating functionality.
- Voltage Range: The converted DC voltage varies depending on product design, but the lowest voltage setting is typically around 12V. For example, some products achieve multi-level temperature control by adjusting the output voltage, with the lowest level stabilizing at 12V to ensure heating effectiveness while avoiding safety hazards associated with excessive voltage.
- Safety Design: Given the involvement of 220V high-voltage input, such products must comply with safety standards like 3C certification. The internal circuitry must include overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection, and other functions, while the outer casing should be made of flame-retardant materials to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire.
2. USB Power Supply Type (5V DC)
Some small heated seat cushions or portable heating devices may use USB ports for power supply, directly utilizing 5V DC power. These products have lower power and are suitable for short-term, low-intensity heating needs.
- Voltage Range: The lowest voltage setting is typically 4.5V - 5V, with temperature control achieved by adjusting the input current or duty cycle. For example, certain products use a 5V power supply from a USB port in conjunction with PWM voltage regulation technology to control the actual heating voltage at around 4.5V, thereby extending battery life (e.g., when powered by a portable power bank) or adapting to low-power scenarios.
- Applicable Scenarios: Due to power limitations (generally not exceeding 10W), these products have a smaller heating area and are suitable for localized warmth, such as office chair cushions or car heating pads. However, their heating speed and maximum temperature are lower than those of 220V conversion-type products.
Summary: When selecting a power supply for a heating office chair, it is essential to consider heating requirements, usage scenarios, and safety. For rapid heating or large-area heating, prioritize 220V conversion-type products; for portability or low-power usage, USB power supply-type products are more suitable. Regardless of the type, ensure that the product has passed safety certifications and avoid unauthorized modifications to the power supply circuitry.
