Guquan Office Chair Disassembly
Admin October 11, 2026
The disassembly of Guquan office chairs can be carried out by referring to the following general steps:

Prepare tools: Before disassembly, prepare basic tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and rubber hammers. If you find that the screws are rusted or the connecting parts are stuck, you can prepare rust remover or lubricating oil in advance to assist in the process. The tools selected should match the screw specifications to avoid forced disassembly that may cause screw slippage or component damage.
Separate the seat and the backrest:
- Observe the connection between the lower part of the backrest and the seat, and find the fixing screws (usually 2-4).
- Use a screwdriver of the corresponding model to turn the screws counterclockwise and remove them. Be sure to keep the screws to prevent loss.
- If the backrest is of an integrated design (without independent connecting screws), skip this step and proceed directly to the next step.
Remove the armrests:
- The armrests are usually fixed to both sides of the seat with 2-3 screws. You need to bend over and observe the edges or the bottom of the seat.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the screws one by one and gently lift the armrests to separate them from the seat.
- If the armrests have a linkage structure with the backrest, separate the backrest first and then remove the armrests.
Separate the gas lift and the base:
- Completely invert the chair so that the feet are facing upwards, exposing the connection between the gas lift and the base.
- For the type fixed by a snap ring: Use needle-nose pliers or a screwdriver to pry open the snap ring and pull out the gas lift upwards at the same time.
- For the type fixed by screws: Use a wrench to remove the fixing screws and separate the gas lift from the base.
- Dealing with stubborn connections:
- Raise the gas lift to the highest position, hold the seat cushion with one hand, and press the lifting lever with the other hand. Shake it several times and then pull it out.
- Or invert the feet of the chair and gently tap the bottom of the gas lift with a rubber hammer (you can use a wooden board as a cushion if there is no rubber hammer) to loosen it and then take it out.
- During operation, keep the gas lift vertical to avoid the release of internal gas pressure due to tilting, which may cause injury.
Remove the casters:
- The casters are usually directly inserted into the caster seats on the base. You can hold the casters with both hands and pull them outwards with force.
- If the snap fasteners are too tight, insert a screwdriver into the gap between the casters and the caster seats and gently pry the edges to loosen them and then remove them.
- Pay attention to the direction of the casters during removal to avoid excessive force that may deform the base.
Safety tips:
- The gas lift contains high-pressure gas inside. Non-professionals are prohibited from disassembling or puncturing it by themselves.
- It is recommended to wear gloves during the disassembly process to prevent screw scratches or bumps from metal parts.
- If you encounter components that cannot be separated (such as a gas lift and chair feet that are rusted together), it is recommended to contact after-sales service or professional maintenance personnel for handling to avoid safety hazards caused by forced disassembly.
