Government Office Chair Renovation

Admin October 11, 2026

Government office chair renovation can be carried out according to different needs, such as making them mobile, renovating their appearance, and repairing or modifying the armrest surfaces.

Making Them Mobile

If you need to increase the mobility of office chairs, you can install casters. First, prepare suitable casters, prioritizing swivel casters with self-tapping screws. Each caster should have a load-bearing capacity of at least 40kg. If the chair legs are made of metal, you will also need to prepare additional matching screws; for wooden or plastic chair legs, the self-tapping screws can be directly fixed. At the same time, prepare tools such as screwdrivers and tape measures. Turn the chair upside down and remove the original plastic pads. Use a tape measure to measure the four corners at the bottom of the chair legs and mark the center positions of the casters. Align the center holes of the casters with the marked points, insert the self-tapping screws vertically, and rotate them clockwise to fix them. For metal chair legs, you need to drill holes first. After installation, carefully check the firmness to ensure that the casters are securely installed. Finally, conduct no-load and load tests. If you find that the chair is tilted, you can adjust the installation angle of the casters or replace them to ensure smooth movement of the chair.

Renovating the Appearance

When the chair's appearance is outdated, you can use a one-piece chair cover for renovation. The one-piece chair cover has the characteristics of high fit and good elasticity. It can wrap the entire chair, perfectly covering the backrest, seat cushion, and armrests. It will not shift when pulled and will not have bulges or็ฟ˜่พน (I think you mean 'warping edges', here it's translated as 'bulges or lifted edges'). Its material is high-elastic knitted fabric, which feels soft and is breathable. It has strong adaptability and can fit various types of chairs, such as those with lifting gas rods, 360-degree rotating bases, and massage-function executive chairs. Choose a suitable one-piece chair cover and directly put it on the chair to make the old chair look brand new.

Repairing or Modifying the Armrest Surfaces

If the armrest surfaces are damaged, you can make wooden armrest surfaces for repair. First, remove the damaged armrest surfaces and draw the outline of the old armrest surfaces on thick cardboard and cut out the pattern. Place the pattern on small square pieces of wood, draw the outline, and use a coping saw to cut out the wood along the outline. After splicing, clamp it tightly with wood glue and wait for 24 hours before removing the clamps. Flatten the back of the spliced armrest surfaces, draw the size outline using the old armrest surfaces, and cut out the shape. Finally, install it on the armrests to complete the repair and modification of the armrest surfaces.
