Glue for Office Chairs

Admin October 08, 2026

When gluing office chairs, it is essential to choose the appropriate adhesive based on the material and the extent of the breakage. Different types of office chairs require different adhesives.

For wooden office chairs, there are several adhesive options. 502 adhesive is suitable for wood bonding, offering strong adhesion and quickly restoring the chair's structural stability. When using it, clean the broken area, apply the adhesive evenly, align the broken parts, and gently press to secure. However, it hardens after curing, so avoid contact with areas that do not require bonding. Woodworking adhesive provides strong adhesion and good flexibility, making it suitable for wooden furniture repair. When bonding, sand the crack first, apply the adhesive, and then secure it with clamps. Epoxy resin adhesive offers excellent adhesion and durability, with a long-lasting bonding effect after curing, though the curing process is relatively slow. Its usage is similar to that of 502 adhesive, requiring cleaning of the broken surface, application of the adhesive, and securing. White latex adhesive dries transparent, has strong adhesion, and is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. It can fill wood gaps to make connections more secure, suitable for splicing and routine repairs of various wooden chairs. Wood-specific adhesive is designed for wood characteristics, significantly enhancing the strength and stability of the joint.

For plastic office chairs, if quick repair is desired, instant super glue can be used. It cures in seconds, quickly connecting broken or separated parts, though it has slightly poor impact resistance and flexibility. Epoxy adhesive is also a good choice, offering strong adhesion, good chemical resistance, and heat resistance, suitable for repairing most plastic materials.

For metal office chairs, epoxy resin adhesive has strong adhesion to metals, can withstand significant tensile and compressive forces, and offers good corrosion and water resistance after curing. If securing and preventing loosening of chair screws, anaerobic adhesive can be used. It cures in an oxygen-free environment, is easy to operate, and effectively prevents screw loosening.
