Among the 101 batches of office chair products produced by 101 enterprises nationwide that were spot-checked, 15 batches were unqualified, with 7 batches having stability issues. The involved enterprises include Foshan Shouyu Furniture Co., Ltd., Huizhou Branch of Shenzhen Jialewei Dun Furniture Co., Ltd., and five other companies. The stability of office chairs is crucial as it directly relates to the safety of users. If the stability is unqualified, the chair may suddenly tip over during use, causing the user to fall and get injured. Among the 90 batches of products spot-checked from 90 enterprises in 11 provinces and cities, 21 batches were unqualified, with 17 of them being swivel chairs. These swivel chairs had issues such as inferior gas springs and broken five-star bases, involving enterprises like Dongguan Linsheng Industrial Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Xingaofan Furniture Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Inferior gas springs may have problems such as poor sealing and unstable pressure, and in severe cases, they may even explode, causing serious harm to users. The five-star base, as the supporting structure of the swivel chair, if of poor quality, is prone to breakage when bearing the weight of the human body and various forces during daily use, causing the chair to lose balance and the user to fall.
