Fuzhou Office Chair Manufacturing

Admin October 09, 2026

Fuzhou is one of the regions in China with a relatively high concentration of office chair manufacturers, forming a complete industrial chain that covers various production modes, processes, and product types.

Production Modes

There are three main types of office chair manufacturers in Fuzhou. Firstly, there are OEM enterprises that produce according to customer drawings or samples. Secondly, there are design and manufacturing enterprises that possess independent R&D capabilities and can independently complete appearance and structural design. Thirdly, there are enterprises with their own brands that sell directly to the market. Moreover, many manufacturers cover multiple business forms simultaneously and adjust flexibly according to order requirements.

Production Process

The production process includes design and prototyping, mass production, and finished product inspection. In the design and prototyping stage, manufacturers draw drawings and make samples based on market research or customer needs, and determine the bill of materials and processing techniques through internal reviews. Mass production involves the processing and assembly of multiple components and is divided into four stages: material preparation, component processing, final assembly, and testing. Material preparation involves purchasing and inspecting raw materials; component processing determines the shape and strength of the chair through cutting, sewing, and other processes; the final assembly stage connects various components and installs key parts. After the finished product inspection, which includes whole-chair assembly, functional testing, and packaging, the products are sent to customers via logistics.

Quality Management

Three inspection links are set up: incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and finished product inspection. Incoming inspection checks whether purchased parts meet specifications; in-process inspection focuses on whether processes are standardized; finished product inspection includes tests on appearance, lifting operation, reclining function, stability, etc. Some manufacturers also conduct static pressure tests on samples.

Material Selection

Common materials include mesh fabric, PU leather, genuine leather, sponge, and engineering plastics, each with different characteristics. Seat support materials include cold-pressed sponge, recycled cotton, and latex; among seat surface materials, special mesh fabric has moderate elasticity and good heat dissipation; the skeleton part mostly uses cold-rolled steel or aluminum alloy.

Product Types

According to function, they can be divided into conference chairs, staff chairs, ergonomic chairs, and executive chairs. Conference chairs have a simple design and are easy to move and store; staff chairs emphasize lumbar support and height adjustment; ergonomic chairs introduce various structures to adapt to different body types; executive chairs feature a wide seat surface and high back design, with a fine texture of the covering material.
