Furniture Office Chair Specifications

Admin October 12, 2026

The specifications of office chairs mainly include two aspects: seat size and height, as detailed below:

Seat Size: Office chairs come in both fixed and adjustable seat sizes as standard. Fixed-seat office chairs typically have dimensions ranging from 40 to 45 centimeters. These chairs are suitable for office environments where uniform seat size requirements are prevalent, such as highly standardized office areas. Their advantages include relatively lower costs and high production efficiency. However, due to variations in users' body types, fixed-seat chairs may not meet everyone's needs. Therefore, it is advisable to choose office chairs with adjustable seat sizes, which typically have a range of adjustment from 38 to 48 centimeters. Adjustable-seat chairs can be tailored to the user's hip size and sitting habits, providing a more comfortable and personalized sitting experience that enhances work efficiency and reduces physical fatigue. For example, individuals with smaller body frames can adjust the seat size to be smaller, allowing their feet to rest flat on the ground and maintain proper posture. Conversely, those with larger body frames can adjust the seat size to be larger, avoiding a cramped feeling due to a small seat.

Height: The national standard range for office chair height is 40 to 50 centimeters. An appropriate height ensures that the user's feet can rest flat on the ground, with thighs parallel to the ground and knees at approximately a 90-degree angle. This sitting posture helps alleviate pressure on the legs and waist, preventing discomfort caused by prolonged sitting. Additionally, some office chairs offer height adjustment features, allowing users to flexibly adjust the chair height according to their own height, desk height, and work requirements to achieve the optimal sitting posture.

Furthermore, the "Guidelines for Specifications and Performance of General Office Furniture in Central Administrative Institutions" issued by the National Government Offices Administration recommend the appearance and main dimensions of general office furniture, facilitating large-scale production and procurement and promoting standardized configurations. However, the relevant indicators, parameters, and styles are recommended and reference-based, not mandatory, providing certain flexibility and diversity in the design of office chair specifications.
