Fluffy Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

Cleaning a fluffy office chair requires selecting appropriate methods based on its material characteristics. Both daily maintenance and targeted stain removal are equally important. Here are specific cleaning and maintenance suggestions:

Cleaning steps should be carried out in stages

  1. Surface dust removal: Use a vacuum cleaner (equipped with a soft-bristle brush head) or a clean soft brush to remove dust from the surface and crevices, preventing dust from damaging the fluff through friction. For stubborn debris, use a small brush to gently sweep along the direction of the fluff to prevent fiber flattening.
  2. Local stain removal: For small-area stains, dissolve a small amount of neutral detergent (such as dishwashing liquid) in warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution, wring it out until it is semi-dry, and then use a "press-and-gently-wipe" method to treat the stains. Avoid vigorous back-and-forth rubbing to prevent the stains from spreading or the fluff from clumping. If the stain is oily (such as coffee or food residue), first use a paper towel to absorb the surface liquid, and then clean it using the above method.
  3. Humidity control: Ensure that the fabric is moist but not dripping during cleaning. Adopt the principle of "small amounts multiple times" to prevent the fluff from deforming or becoming moldy due to excessive soaking. After cleaning, immediately open the windows for ventilation to accelerate drying and prevent bacteria growth in a humid environment.
  4. Restore fluffiness: After drying, use a soft brush to gently comb along the direction of the fluff growth to restore the soft touch of the surface. If the fluff is flattened, you can use a steam iron (with a cloth in between and at a low temperature) to assist in restoring it, but keep a distance to avoid burning the fabric.

Special considerations for different materials

  • Velvet material (such as Miaopule backrest computer chair): Velvet has fine fluff, so cleaning should be even gentler to avoid the surface turning white due to hard brush bristles. If there is uneven gloss after long-term use, gently pat the surface with a damp cloth and then let it dry naturally.
  • Lambswool/faux lambswool material (such as Landuoda dining chair): For water-repellent models, you can directly wipe oil stains with a wet wipe, but pay attention to detergent residue. For non-water-repellent models, immediately use a dry cloth to absorb the liquid and then treat it using the regular method. In southern humid areas, it is recommended to choose faux lambswool models. The original lambswool models need regular dust mite removal (such as using a dust mite remover or exposing them to the sun for 2-3 hours).

Key points of daily maintenance

  • Regular dusting: Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the surface dust once a week to reduce the risk of stain penetration.
  • Moisture and stain prevention: Avoid direct contact between drinks and food with the chair surface. You can place a breathable seat cushion (such as a cotton and linen one) in the seat area to isolate sweat stains. If the chair is not used for a long time, cover it with a dust cover and keep the environment dry.
  • Avoid damage: Do not use washing powder, bleach, or high-temperature hair dryers to prevent the fabric from fading or hardening. If the stain area is too large or the chair is of high value, it is recommended to contact professional fabric cleaning services.
