Fixed Office Chair Installation Guide

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation steps for a fixed office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Install the Five-Star Base and Wheels
The five-star base is the supporting foundation of the office chair, typically made of plastic or metal. First, align the wheels with the slots on the five-star base and press firmly to ensure they are fully embedded and securely installed. Some wheels may have brake functions and need to be adjusted to the correct position according to the design. After installation, check that the five-star base is stable to prevent the chair from wobbling due to loose wheels.

Step 2: Prepare the Seat Cushion and Tray
Place the seat cushion face up on a flat surface for easy operation. The tray is a key component connecting the seat cushion to the gas lift and must be oriented correctly (usually marked or grooved on the tray to match the seat cushion interface). Align the tray with the bottom clips of the seat cushion and press gently until you hear a 'click', indicating it is securely fastened. If the tray needs to be fixed with screws, prepare the corresponding screw model (such as a No. 1 screw) in advance and tighten it according to the instructions.

Step 3: Install the Armrests
Armrests should be installed separately on the left and right sides. First, align the armrests with the reserved holes on both sides of the seat cushion. For some designs, the armrests need to be inserted into a frame (metal bracket) first, and then fixed with a No. 3 screw to ensure the screw is tightened but not over-tightened to avoid stripping. If the armrests are directly connected to the seat cushion, take three screws (usually short screws) and insert them through the armrest holes and seat cushion holes in sequence, tightening them with a screwdriver. The installation method for the left and right armrests is the same. After installation, check that the armrests are level and stable.

Step 4: Secure the Backrest
The backrest needs to be connected to the tray. Align the bottom of the backrest with the slots or grooves on the tray and press down slowly until the backrest is fully embedded and does not wobble. Some designs require additional screws for reinforcement (such as using a No. 1 screw to fix the connection between the backrest and the tray), which should be done according to the instructions. After installation, gently shake the backrest to confirm that it is tightly connected to the tray to prevent it from falling off during use.

Step 5: Assemble the Gas Lift and Chair Body
The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the height of the chair. Insert the top of the gas lift into the hole at the bottom of the tray, ensuring it is fully inserted and there are no gaps. Then, align the assembled chair body (including the five-star base, seat cushion, backrest, etc.) with the bottom of the gas lift and press down vertically to secure the center hole of the five-star base to the bottom of the gas lift. After installation, test whether the chair's lifting function works properly and whether the wheels rotate smoothly.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check the screw models (such as No. 1 and No. 3 screws) to avoid using the wrong ones and causing damage to the components.
  • It is recommended to wear gloves during operation to prevent the screws from scratching your fingers.
  • If the clips are difficult to insert, gently tap the components to assist in positioning. Do not apply excessive force to avoid breaking them.
