Fixed Office Chair Height Adjustment

Admin October 10, 2026

The main methods for adjusting the height of a fixed office chair include handle adjustment, fixed screw adjustment, adjustment lever adjustment, and dual-handle adjustment, with specific operations as follows:

Handle adjustment is a relatively common method. If there is a handle beneath the chair seat, lift the handle upwards to adjust the height of the armchair. At this time, the high-pressure gas inside the air rod is compressed, and the rebound of the compressed gas will naturally raise the chair seat. When you want to lower the armchair, turn the handle upwards, then lift your hand and sit on the chair. The rebound of the high-pressure air in the air rod is blocked, and the chair will descend. This adjustment method is simple to operate, requiring only simple handle movements to achieve height adjustments, making it convenient and quick, suitable for most office chairs with a pneumatic rod.

Fixed screw adjustment is applicable to some swivel chairs. There is a fixed screw at the bottom of the swivel chair. During adjustment, first use an appropriate tool (such as a wrench) to loosen this screw, at which point the height of the chair can be freely adjusted. After adjusting the chair to the desired height, tighten the screw to fix it, ensuring the chair remains stable at the required height. However, this method is slightly more complex to operate compared to handle adjustment, requiring the use of tools and possibly some effort to turn the screw during adjustment.

Adjustment lever adjustment is suitable for office chairs with two adjustment levers beneath the seat. One lever is used to adjust the up-and-down height of the chair, while the other is used to adjust the left-and-right position. When adjusting the height, you can sit on the seat, lift the handle for height adjustment, and release the handle when the chair reaches the desired height, at which point the chair will be fixed at the current height. This method allows users to feel the comfort of the chair while adjusting the height, making it easy to find the most suitable height for themselves.

Dual-handle adjustment is suitable for office chairs with two handles beneath them. One handle can adjust the height of the chair, while the other can adjust the angle of the chair back. If you are unsure which handle to use for height adjustment, you can try both handles repeatedly to see which one can adjust the height. Once determined, follow the method described above for handle adjustment to operate.
