Fixed Office Chair Casters
Admin October 19, 2026
Fixed office chair casters can be stabilized using chair caster stoppers or dedicated fixed casters, with the appropriate type selected based on specific needs.

Types and Features of Chair Caster Stoppers
Chair caster stoppers are tools specifically designed to address the issue of office chair sliding. Their core function is to restrict caster rotation through physical means. Common styles include:
- PVC Soft-Bottom Style: Utilizes soft PVC material as the bottom contact layer to achieve fixation by increasing friction with the floor. Its advantages include easy installationโsimply clip it onto the outside of the casterโand it does not damage the floor surface, making it suitable for smooth floors such as wooden or tiled surfaces.
- Nylon Felt Style: Uses nylon felt as the friction layer, enhancing grip through a dense fiber structure. These stoppers are typically designed as ring clips that tightly wrap around the caster, making them suitable for scenarios requiring higher stability, such as on carpets or sloped floors. They are highly wear-resistant and do not deform easily with long-term use.
Alternative Solutions with Dedicated Fixed Casters
If you need to completely replace the original casters, consider the following dedicated fixed casters:
- Snap-In Foot Pads: These are directly fixed to the bottom of the chair legs using a snap-in structure, completely replacing traditional casters. Their bottoms are usually made of rubber or silicone, providing excellent anti-slip performance. After installation, the contact area between the chair legs and the floor increases, significantly improving stability. These foot pads are suitable for scenarios requiring long-term chair fixation, such as fixed workstations in front of office desks.
- Braked Casters: These add a braking mechanism to traditional universal casters, allowing the casters to be locked by stepping on or flipping a brake lever. Their advantage lies in retaining the flexibility of the castersโthey can be unlocked at any time for movement and provide the same fixing effect as ordinary stoppers when locked. This design is suitable for users who need to frequently adjust the position of their chair but require temporary fixation.
Installation and Usage Precautions
- Compatibility Check: Before purchasing, ensure that the size of the stopper or caster matches the chair legs to avoid installation failure due to incompatible specifications.
- Floor Adaptability: Choose the appropriate type based on the floor material. For smooth floors, prioritize PVC soft-bottom styles; for carpets, nylon felt styles or snap-in foot pads are more suitable.
- Regular Maintenance: After long-term use, check the wear condition of the stoppers or casters and promptly replace damaged parts to ensure fixing effectiveness.
