Fitness with Office Chair
Fitness with an office chair can be achieved through methods such as chair squats, leg exercises, seated fitness routines, and utilizing the chair's rotating function. Details are as follows:

Chair squats: Choose a sturdy office chair. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart or slightly wider. Slowly squat down as if sitting on the chair, making sure your knees do not go past your toes. Keep your back straight, then slowly stand up and repeat. This exercise effectively works the leg and buttock muscles, making it suitable for short bursts of exercise during work hours to strengthen the lower body.
Leg exercises: First, cross your feet in front, lean your back gently against the chair back, and as you lean forward, perform a bending and knee-lifting motion with your legs. This exercise targets the abdominal and leg muscles, enhancing core strength and leg flexibility. Second, clasp your hands in front of your chest, keep your legs straight, lift your right leg as high as possible to the left upper side, hold for five seconds, then switch to the left leg moving to the right upper side. Alternate in this manner, doing a set of five repetitions each time, and perform five sets daily. This helps improve the endurance and coordination of the leg muscles.
Seated fitness routines: Perform full-body exercises while seated, with movements designed to cover warm-up, abdominal and back muscle groups, shoulder joints, feet, and head, among other areas. For example, for leg lifts, sit on the chair and slowly lift your straight legs to work the leg muscles. For arm circles, move your hands in circular motions at your sides to mobilize the shoulder joints. For seated running, mimic the running posture and perform in-place movements on the seat, coordinating with breathing to relax the muscles and activate the joints. These low-intensity exercises are ideal for taking short breaks during office hours to relieve physical fatigue.
Utilizing the rotating function: First, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, place your hands on the two corners of the chair respectively, rotate the chair to the right, follow with your right arm, and keep your feet still to stretch your shoulder. Then return to the original position and switch sides. This effectively stretches the shoulder muscles and relieves shoulder soreness. Second, sit on the chair and cross your legs, place one leg flat on the other, clasp your hands together with your elbows on the balanced leg, extend upwards as much as possible, hold for 30 seconds, adjust your breathing, and look up at the sky. You can feel the stretch in your gluteal and hip muscles. Switch sides and continue to help relax the buttock and hip muscles.
