Fat Man Office Chair Assembly
Admin October 22, 2026
The assembly of the fat man office chair can refer to the following steps. Operate strictly according to the process and pay attention to safety regulations:

1. Preparation before assembly
- Check components: Ensure that the five-star base (pedestal), casters (5 pieces), gas lift, seat plate, backrest, armrests, headrest, screws, and installation tools (cross/flat-head screwdrivers, electric screwdriver, Allen wrenches) are all present.
- Tool selection: Choose the appropriate tool according to the screw type. It is recommended to set the electric screwdriver to a low torque setting to avoid over-tightening and stripping the screws.
2. Install the casters and five-star base
- Insert each caster into the mounting holes of the five-star base one by one. If it is a threaded type, tighten it clockwise until it cannot rotate; if it is a snap-in type, listen for a 'click' sound to confirm it is securely fastened.
- After installation, lift the five-star base slightly and shake it gently to check if the casters are firmly attached and to prevent them from falling off during subsequent use.
3. Install the gas lift
- Place the five-star base with the center hole facing upwards and remove the plastic protective cap from the top of the gas lift (if any).
- Insert the thicker end of the gas lift vertically into the center hole and press it down firmly until it is fully inserted into the bottom to ensure a tight connection with the five-star base.
4. Install the seat plate and chassis
- Place the chassis on the bottom of the seat plate, paying attention to the direction of the chassis (usually marked with 'front' and 'back'). Align the screw holes and initially screw in the screws by hand for 3-4 turns.
- Use the 'diagonal tightening method': first tighten the screws on the opposite corners, and then gradually tighten the remaining screws to ensure a firm connection between the chassis and the seat plate and to prevent loosening due to uneven force.
5. Connect the seat plate and gas lift
- Lift the seat plate with the installed chassis and insert it into the hole on the chassis at the top of the gas lift, ensuring it is inserted to the bottom to prevent the seat plate from wobbling.
6. Install the backrest
- Align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the armrest mounting holes on both sides of the seat plate, insert them, and then fix the bottom of the backrest with screws from the bottom of the armrest brackets.
- Align the mounting holes at the back of the backrest with those on the seat plate bracket and use two wrenches to lock the screws in place (one hand holds the nut and the other tightens the screw) to ensure a firm connection between the backrest and the seat plate.
7. Install the armrests and headrest
- Press the button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes on the armrest brackets respectively. Listen for a 'click' sound to confirm they are securely fastened.
- Place the headrest in the middle at the top of the backrest, press it to make it fit the backrest, and insert screws through the headrest fixing clips. First screw them in loosely for 3-4 turns and then tighten them one by one.
Precautions:
- Avoid using excessive force during assembly to prevent damage to components or personal injury.
- Regularly check if the screws are loose, especially at the connections between the gas lift and the five-star base, and between the backrest and the seat plate.
