Factory Office Chair Installation

Admin October 13, 2026

The installation of office chairs in the factory can be carried out according to the following steps, and attention should be paid to the installation order and detailed requirements of different components:

1. Install the five-star base and wheels Insert each chair wheel into the five-claw assembly holes one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and free of looseness. Some installation instructions recommend fixing the five-star base first and then installing the wheels, but the core principle is to ensure a firm connection between the five-star base and the wheels. After installation, check whether the wheels rotate smoothly to avoid affecting use due to jamming.

2. Install the gas lift Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-claw base, place it vertically, and gently press down to ensure full insertion. The gas lift is a key component for adjusting the height of the chair. During installation, confirm that it is tightly connected to the five-star base to avoid wobbling or detachment during subsequent use.

3. Install the seat base and cushion Place the seat base at the bottom of the cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the seat base (usually aligned with markings or grooves). After aligning with the four screw holes, use a screwdriver to screw each screw in 3-4 turns first, and then tighten them one by one. Avoid tightening a single screw all at once in this step to prevent the seat base from tilting. Then, align the hole at the bottom of the cushion with the top of the gas lift, insert it vertically, and confirm a firm connection.

4. Install the backrest According to different designs, there are two ways to install the backrest:

  • Snap-on type: Align the bottom of the backrest with the slot at the back of the cushion, press it firmly to snap it into the tray or fixing position, ensuring there are no gaps.
  • Screw-fixed type: First, insert the two sides of the bottom of the backrest into the armrest installation positions on the cushion, and fix the bottom of the backrest with two C-screws from the bottom of the armrest bracket; then align the installation holes at the back of the backrest with those on the cushion bracket, and fix them with D-screws using a wrench for double-locking. After installation, check whether the backrest is vertical to avoid affecting comfort due to tilting.

5. Install the armrests Press the button below the armrest surface (if any), and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively, ensuring full embedding. Use a screwdriver to fix the three screws at the connection between the armrests and the cushion one by one, applying even force to avoid slipping. Some designs require installing the armrest brackets first and then fixing the armrest surfaces, so refer to the specific instructions.

6. Install the headrest Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest, and press the installation part of the headrest to make it fit the curved surface of the backrest. Thread two screws through the headrest fixing clips, screw them in 3-4 turns first to adjust the position, and then tighten them one by one. After installation, check whether the headrest can adjust its height or angle to ensure normal function.

Precautions:

  • Check the quantity of all accessories before installation to avoid missing screws or components.
  • Control the force when using tools to avoid scratching the chair surface or damaging the threads.
  • After installation, conduct a comprehensive check to ensure that the connections of all components are firm, and test functions such as the lifting and lowering of the gas lift and the rotation of the wheels.
