Fabric Office Chair Cleaning

Admin October 12, 2026

The cleaning method for fabric office chairs can be selected based on the degree of stains, as follows:

If the stains on the fabric office chair are light, physical cleaning methods can be prioritized. First, use a long-bristled brush to gently brush the surface along the fabric texture, and simultaneously use a powerful vacuum cleaner or a handheld vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust to avoid secondary pollution from dust. This method is suitable for daily maintenance, can quickly remove floating dust, hair, and other particulate matter, and will not damage the fabric fibers.

If the stains are heavy or there are stubborn local stains, proceed in steps:

  1. Pretreatment: First, use a brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove surface dust to prevent the subsequent cleaning agent from mixing with the dust to form mud.
  2. Cleaning agent selection:
    • Soap water method: After wiping the surface with a soft dry towel, spray or apply a less corrosive soap water (such as a diluted solution of neutral hand soap) to the stains, gently brush with a soft-bristled brush until the foam covers the stains, and finally dry with a hair dryer on a low-temperature setting (maintain a distance of more than 30 cm to avoid high-temperature damage to the fabric).
    • Foam cleaner method: For colored beverages, oil stains, etc., directly spray a special foam cleaner onto the stains, wait 5-10 seconds for the cleaner to penetrate and decompose the stains, and then wipe clean with a clean damp towel. If stains remain, repeat the operation 2-3 times, avoiding excessive friction that may cause the fabric to fuzz.
    • Fabric-specific cleaner method: If the stain area is large or the soap water method is not effective, a fabric-specific cleaner (such as RW5 neutral interior cleaner) can be used. Spray the cleaner onto a horsehair brush, and then evenly brush it onto the seat surface. When brushing, keep the fabric moist (avoid dry brushing), use a clean towel to absorb excess foam, and then use a flat-nozzle vacuum cleaner (suction power โ‰ฅ 15 kPa) to press tightly against the fabric surface and suck up the residual cleaner row by row to prevent water stains from forming.

Post-cleaning treatment: Regardless of the method used, after cleaning, place the office chair in a cool, ventilated place to air dry naturally to avoid direct sunlight that may cause the fabric to fade or deform. If using a hair dryer, strictly control the temperature and distance to prevent local overheating. For stubborn stains or large-area contamination, it is recommended to perform a deep cleaning every six months to extend the service life of the fabric.
