Exploding Office Chair Inspection
The failure rate of office chair inspections is relatively high, with various safety hazards present.

According to the inspection results from the State Administration for Market Regulation, the quality issues of office chairs cannot be ignored. In 2020, the failure rate of office chairs reached 23.3%, with swivel chairs being particularly problematic, as 17 batches were found to be unqualified. These issues primarily stem from the substandard performance of gas springs in terms of high and low-temperature resistance, as well as the absence of explosion-proof steel plates. The gas spring is a crucial component of swivel chairs, responsible for adjusting the seat height. Its substandard performance in high and low-temperature resistance may lead to failure under extreme temperatures, thereby affecting the stability and safety of the seat. The lack of explosion-proof steel plates poses an even more serious safety hazard, as they can provide a certain degree of blocking effect in the event of a gas spring explosion, reducing harm to the user.
By 2023, the quality issues of office chairs remain severe. National inspections have found that one out of every four office chairs is unqualified. These unqualified office chairs suffer from problems such as base fractures and caster detachment, which not only affect their normal use but may also cause physical harm to users. More seriously, some inferior products even pose an explosion risk, undoubtedly posing a significant threat to the life safety of users.
In response to these issues, consumers should exercise extra caution when purchasing office chairs. Firstly, choose reputable channels to avoid buying counterfeit and shoddy products. Secondly, carefully examine the product's quality inspection reports and certification marks to ensure compliance with relevant national standards. Finally, regularly inspect all components of the office chair during use and promptly replace or repair any abnormalities. Meanwhile, relevant departments should also strengthen supervision and increase penalties for unqualified products to safeguard consumers' legitimate rights and life safety.
