Electrostatic Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

An electrostatic office chair is a specialized chair designed to eliminate static electricity, also known as an anti-static chair or ESD chair. It is primarily used in electrostatic-sensitive environments such as electronic production workshops, laboratories, clean rooms, as well as in data centers, medical equipment operation rooms, and precision instrument workshops.

The "Trinity" Protection System of a Qualified Anti-Static Chair

  1. Seat Surface Material: Made from specially treated anti-static fabric or PU leather, the surface resistance typically ranges between 10โถ-10โนฮฉ. This range prevents rapid charge accumulation, avoiding damage to sensitive electronic components from static electricity, while ensuring a comfortable touch for prolonged use.
  2. Conductive Structure: Continuous conductive fibers or metal components are built-in from the seat surface to the chair legs, forming a complete conductive path. This design ensures that static charges are smoothly conducted downward rather than remaining on the human body or the chair surface, thereby eliminating the risk of static accumulation.
  3. Grounding Device: The chair legs usually feature conductive casters or specially designed anti-static feet (such as those made of black PVC or rubber), which form a reliable ground connection when in contact with anti-static floors. Some high-end models use metal materials like aluminum alloy for the chair legs, offering better conductivity and further enhancing static discharge efficiency.

Classification and Characteristics of Anti-Static Chairs

  • By Material and Structure: They are classified into anti-static leather chairs, injection-molded chairs, and foam chairs. Leather chairs use PU/PVC fabric combined with conductive components, with seat dimensions up to 440ร—400mm; injection-molded chairs have a surface resistivity ranging from 10โดฮฉ to 10โถฮฉ; foam chairs have an adjustable height range of 460mm to 870mm, suitable for clean rooms ranging from Class 100 to Class 10,000.
  • By Functional Design: They include anti-static station chairs, plastic anti-static chairs, round chairs with five-star bases, and stainless steel anti-static chairs. Some models are equipped with pneumatic lifting and backrest tilting functions. Lifting chairs require special conductive gas springs or external conductive layers/tapes with grounding to ensure continuous conductive paths, while using cold-rolled steel pipes or chrome-plated alloy frames to meet ergonomic and high-strength load-bearing requirements.

Key Dimensions for Selecting an Anti-Static Chair

  1. Scene Adaptation:
    • Laboratories/Clean Rooms/Clean Rooms: Choose dust-free designs with smooth edges to prevent particle shedding; materials should be easy to clean and disinfect; lifting functions should be stable and precise.
    • Factory Workshops/Assembly Lines: Focus on durability and practicality, prioritizing models with strong load-bearing capacity, smooth casters, and sturdy structures; fabrics should be wear-resistant and scratch-resistant.
    • Hospitals/School Operation Tables: Balance functionality and comfort; back support, seat cushion breathability, and adjustability are crucial to alleviate prolonged sitting fatigue.
