Electric and Office Chair Maintenance

Admin October 09, 2026

The maintenance of electric and office chairs should be carried out according to the characteristics of their materials and structures. The specific methods are as follows:

Electric Chair Maintenance

  1. Handling and Placement
Handle with care during transportation to avoid collisions that may cause structural deformation. Place the chair away from heating devices such as radiators and air conditioners, and avoid direct sunlight or prolonged exposure to prevent aging of plastic components (e.g., armrests, bases) or cracking of PU leather materials.

  2. Optimizing Usage Habits
After prolonged sitting, gently pat the cushion and its edges to help the foam regain its elasticity. Keep your center of gravity centered on the gas lift rod during use to avoid uneven pressure that may cause lifting jams. Regularly check the tightness of screws, springs, and knobs, and adjust the spring tension according to your weight (e.g., the back support springs of gaming chairs).

  3. Material Cleaning

    • Fabric Material: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. For granular stains, gently brush inward with a soft-bristled brush. For liquid stains, first blot with a paper towel, then wipe with warm water and a neutral detergent, and finally dry at a low temperature.
    • PU Leather Material: Wipe dust with a damp cloth. Do not use organic solvents such as alcohol or gasoline. For a glossy finish, spray leather cleaner and then wipe in circles with a dry cloth treated with aๆŠค็†ๅ‰‚ (conditioner). Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading or embrittlement.
  4. Prohibited Actions
Do not sit on the armrests or place heavy objects (e.g., computer towers) on them to avoid structural breakage. Regularly check the smoothness of the gas lift rod's movement. If there are unusual noises or jams, replace it promptly.

Office Chair Maintenance

  1. Surface Cleaning

    • Mesh Material: After removing dust with a vacuum cleaner, gently wipe with a diluted neutral detergent and a soft-bristled brush. Rinse with water and air dry naturally. Do not use bleach or strong acid cleaners.
    • Leather Material: Wipe dust with a dry soft cloth. Treat stains with a specialized cleaner. Avoid moisture penetration that may cause the leather to harden or crack.
  2. Structural Maintenance
Check the screws and nuts at the bottom of the chair monthly (especially at the connection points between the backrest and seat cushion, and the armrest fixation areas). Tighten them promptly if loose. If the gas lift rod does not move smoothly, apply an appropriate amount of lubricant (compatible with the material). Replace it if the fault cannot be repaired.

  3. Core Component Care
Protect the seat cushion foam from sharp objects. If there is slight sagging, flip it to distribute the weight evenly. Avoid excessive squeezing of the lumbar support elastic components and regularly check their resilience. Operate the headrest and armrest adjustments gently to prevent plastic buckle breakage.

  4. Environmental Control
Avoid prolonged exposure to damp environments (e.g., basements) or direct sunlight (e.g., by windows) to prevent metal rusting, mesh mildew, or leather fading. When not in use for a long time, store in a dry and ventilated place, and avoid stacking heavy objects on it to prevent deformation.
