Electric Office Chair Casters
Electric office chair casters are one of the core components of electric office chairs, and their selection requires comprehensive consideration of factors such as floor material, functional requirements, and budget.

Floor adaptability is the primary principle for caster selection. For hard floors (such as tiles and wooden floors), PU wheels are recommended. Their soft material and smooth surface can effectively reduce friction with the floor, preventing scratches or marks. Soft carpets are more suitable for nylon wheels. Nylon, with its relatively high hardness, can better penetrate carpet fibers, reducing rolling resistance and avoiding difficulties in movement due to excessive friction. If the floor material is mixed (for example, some areas of the office are carpeted while others have hard floors), priority can be given to more versatile PU wheels, or selection can be based on the main usage scenario.
Functional characteristics should be considered in conjunction with the usage scenario. Common types of casters on the market include 1.4-inch load-bearing casters, 1.5-inch wear-resistant casters, and 2-inch universal wheels. Generally, the larger the size, the stronger the load-bearing capacity, but attention should be paid to matching with the chair legs. If frequent movement or direction adjustment is required, universal wheels are a better choice due to their 360-degree rotation design, which enhances flexibility. If a fixed position is needed, casters with brake locking functions can be paired. These can achieve instant braking through stepping or pressing, enhancing safety. In addition, silent casters reduce rolling noise through special materials or structural designs, making them suitable for scenarios with high requirements for environmental quietness (such as libraries and conference rooms). Wear-resistant casters extend their service life through thickened materials or surface treatments, making them suitable for high-frequency usage scenarios.
Budget and cost-effectiveness need to be comprehensively balanced. Caster prices vary widely, ranging from 0.51 yuan to 500 yuan, mainly influenced by material, size, and function. Basic casters (such as ordinary nylon wheels) are relatively inexpensive and suitable for scenarios with limited budgets or low functional requirements. Mid-to-high-end casters (such as PU wheels with silent and brake functions) are more expensive but offer a more comfortable user experience and a longer service life. It is recommended to choose according to actual needs to avoid excessive pursuit of high-end functions leading to cost waste.
