Dongfang Zhenxuan Office Chair
Dongfang Zhenxuan was once embroiled in a quality and integrity controversy over its 'Liuliu Stool' office chair product and has now offered double refunds without returns to purchasing customers, while the involved merchant is being held legally accountable for forging inspection reports.

Core of the Incident: Product Quality and False Advertising Issues
The 'Liuliu Stool' office chair sold in Dongfang Zhenxuan's livestream studio was complained about by consumers for serious quality issues, including the use of inferior materials such as moldy wooden boards and waste sponges. These materials not only potentially release harmful substances (such as formaldehyde) but also pose safety hazards due to structural instability and susceptibility to damage, seriously violating relevant consumer protection laws and regulations.
Merchant Behavior: Forging Inspection Reports to Evade Responsibility
To cover up the product quality issues, the involved merchant issued a false inspection report, claiming that the product met national standards. However, Huayi Inspection officially denied the authenticity of the report, pointing out that the report content, the inspection agency's website, and the seal were all forged, and had reported the case to the public security authorities. This behavior is suspected of violating the 'Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China' and the relevant provisions on 'forging certification documents' in the 'Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China', and may face criminal penalties.
Dongfang Zhenxuan's Response Measures
In response to this incident, Dongfang Zhenxuan's livestream studio issued a statement on September 30th, announcing the implementation of a double refund without return compensation plan for all users who purchased the 'Liuliu Stool'. This measure aims to compensate consumers for their losses through financial compensation while preventing further harm that could be caused by the continued circulation of the problematic products. However, it should be noted that this handling method only applies to sold products and does not involve the pursuit of legal responsibility against the merchant.
Consumer Warnings and Industry Reflections
This incident has exposed loopholes in the livestream e-commerce industry in terms of supply chain auditing and quality supervision. When purchasing office chairs and other furniture, consumers should focus on the environmental friendliness of materials (such as whether they have passed ENF or E0 certification), structural stability (such as load-bearing test data), and merchant qualifications (such as the authenticity of inspection reports). Platforms, on the other hand, need to strengthen product selection audits and establish third-party sampling inspection mechanisms to avoid damaging brand reputation due to the non-compliant behavior of individual merchants.
