Dismantling Steps for Office Chairs
Admin October 10, 2026
The dismantling steps for different types of office chairs are as follows. Choose the appropriate method according to the specific model:

I. Dismantling Steps for the Beluck Office Chair BC03Q Premium Version
- Removing the Headrest: Pull the headrest to its highest position, press down hard on the thin metal strip in the middle while holding it, and pull it out once you feel the locking mechanism loosen. If the metal strip is difficult to hold, you can use a discarded hard card to assist the operation.
- Removing the Armrests: Turn the chair upside down on a high platform (such as a tabletop). Use the hex wrench that comes with the box to loosen the screws under the armrests and remove the armrests.
- Separating the Backrest from the Base: Use the hex wrench to remove the fixing screws at the connection between the backrest and the base, and separate the backrest from the base.
- Separating the Five-Star Base from the Gas Spring: Use a rubber mallet (or a regular hammer wrapped in a soft cloth) to tap each of the five feet of the five-star base to detach it from the gas spring.
- Separating the Gas Spring from the Base: Use a rubber mallet to tap the center of the base plate to separate the gas spring from the base.
- Removing the Casters: Simply pull out the casters on the five-star base with force (some models need to be rotated before pulling).
- Packing and Storage: Place the base face down into the packing box and cover it with foam for protection. Then, place the armrests, backrest, headrest, and casters in sequence, and put in accessories such as the adapter, screw pack, and instruction manual.
II. Dismantling Steps for a Regular Office Chair (Taking Caster Cleaning as an Example)
- Dismantling the Casters: Turn the chair upside down (with the seat facing down). Hold the caster bracket with your hand and gently pull it outward (most are designed with snap-fit mechanisms and do not require tools). If the casters are stuck, you can use a flat-head screwdriver padded with a soft cloth to pry the edge of the snap-fit to remove them.
- Cleaning Debris: Use tweezers to pick out hair and debris from the gaps in the casters. Use an old toothbrush dipped in neutral detergent to scrub the surface and the bearing gaps. Rinse with clean water, wipe dry, and air-dry for 10 minutes.
- Lubricating and Reinstalling: Drip 1-2 drops of special lubricating oil onto the bearings and rotate the casters to evenly distribute the oil. Align the casters with the snap-fits on the brackets and push them in until you hear a 'click' to confirm they are securely installed. Turn the chair back upright and test the smoothness of the rolling.
Precautions:
- It is recommended to take photos to record the positions of each component before dismantling for easy reassembly.
- Avoid scratching the seat surface or stripping the screws when using tools.
- Choose a special type of lubricating oil to avoid corroding the components.
