Dismantling Office Chair Base
The following steps can be followed to dismantle the base of an office chair:

Separate the Backrest
First, you need to separate the backrest from the base. This step is usually to reduce potential interference in subsequent operations and make the dismantling process smoother. The connection methods between the backrest and the base of different models of office chairs may vary. Some are fixed with screws, while others may be connected with snap-on fasteners. If it is fixed with screws, you need to use an appropriate screwdriver to unscrew them; if it is a snap-on connection, you need to find the position of the fasteners and separate them by applying appropriate force.
Raise the Pneumatic Rod
Raise the pneumatic rod to its highest position. The pneumatic rod is a key component for the height-adjustment function of the office chair. Raising it can loosen the connection between the base and the pneumatic rod, facilitating subsequent dismantling operations. When raising the pneumatic rod, be careful to operate steadily to avoid damaging the pneumatic rod or other parts of the office chair due to excessive force.
Shake and Dismantle the Base
Hold the seat cushion tightly with one hand and press the height-adjustment lever with the other hand while gently shaking the base several times. In this way, you can gradually loosen the connection between the base and the pneumatic rod, allowing the base to be removed smoothly. During the shaking process, pay attention to applying an appropriate amount of force and avoid using excessive force to prevent damage to the structure of the office chair.
Deal with the Tight Connection between the Pneumatic Rod and the Chair Legs
If the office chair has been used for a long time, resulting in a very tight connection between the pneumatic rod and the chair legs, making it difficult to directly dismantle the pneumatic rod, you can invert the chair legs at this time. This can change the direction of the force and make the dismantling easier. It is best to use a rubber mallet to gently knock out the pneumatic rod. The rubber mallet has a certain degree of elasticity, which can provide sufficient impact force while reducing damage to the parts of the office chair. If you don't have a rubber mallet, you can also place a wooden board underneath and use other appropriate tools to knock, but be sure to control the force to avoid excessive force causing part damage.
